Bauchmann Thinks Founding Fathers Ended Slavery

Ill betcha this gaffe left bravo with a scar....

http://www.geckotales.com/bush-video-obgyns-should-spread-the-love.htm

Bachman's speech was prepared in advance! There was no gaffe, she is just plain dumb and dangerous to the future of this country.

Are you seriously implying Obamas speeches on 'off the cuff'....get real...
I like funny gaffes as much as the next guy......

"57 states" was funny

"corpse men" showed a degree of stupidity.....

"The Middle East is obviously an issue that has plagued the region for centuries." .....funny and stupid

"The reforms we seek would bring greater competition, choice, savings and inefficiencies to our health care system."...misspeaks just like Sarah Palin

....I don't know what the term is in Austrian, wheeling and dealing." ...... "Austrian," ? ...a language which does not exist

Then sometimes the truth just slips out...."I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody."

Thats when its gets scary instead of funny...watch the video in my sig....same thing, only more scary....

You forgot to add his "build stuff and invent stuff"

Obama's "Austrian" comment could have been referring to economics, using language to refer to how the Austrians would speak about the business environment. Of course, I am just going out on a limb that likely doesn't exist... :cof1:

I can't believe cawako posted this load of liberal crap! Are you Establishment Elitists so stupid you don't realize what the left is doing here? Everyone who isn't a liberal ass sucker 'moderate' with an (R) beside their name, is going to be targeted by the left, and have their intellect called into question. Mitt Romney won't, because that's who the liberals hope we will nominate! Someone they can cajole and coax into going along with liberal stupidity, in the name of 'bipartisanship', you see... People like Bauchmann and Palin, well, they are just too stupid to ever be considered for the office of president... we need a moderate like Romney, who is smart enough to realize liberalism ain't all that bad!

Half of what this clown wrote, is just plain mischaracterization of what she said, or at least, out of context with the points she was making. Many of the Founding Fathers DID fight to abolish slavery, they carefully worded a Constitution to support such a movement in the future. Frederick Douglass initially felt the Constitution was a "white man's creed" designed to keep blacks enslaved and beholden to their masters... until he READ it! After actually READING the document, Douglass realized the Constitution was the pathway to freedom for blacks, that it was actually an ANTI-slavery document!

Much is made of the 3/5 clause, but that was something northern, (mostly anti-slavery) politico's demanded, not out of disregard for the worth of a black person, but out of their own desire to control political power. People ACT like it was something deplorable, that Southerners forced them all to consider black people as 3/5 of a human, but this was actually the idea of the other side, the anti-slavery NORTH did not wish to count blacks as whole people! There is enough guilt and blame to go around, when it comes to slavery and how white politicians (both sides) treated black people.

The 3/5ths clause probably resulted in slavery ending sooner than if blacks were counted as whole persons, because counting them as whole persons would have given the pro-slavery south greater representation in Congress.

How bout that?

Another partisan Rightie Hack defending the indefensible!!

You go Dix...make sure everyone here can see just how willing you are to split hairs and defend anyone who demonizes Liberals!

there is an austrian dialect though

Thats so obviously being an Obama apologist and a moronic attempt at lame spin that even I'm gonna give you a thumbs up on that one....
You're sure not shy about revealing yourself as stupid hack ....and Christiefan thinking it was a "useful" post is icing on the cake, so to speak.\

If you ever open your eyes you'll see that either Palin is at least as smart as Obama or Obama is at least as dumb as Palin.....in plain English, we all make mistakes.

Good lord, that's ridiculous.

Yes...ridiculous and bullshit...

I finally got around to watching the Bachmann video and those "oh so controversial remarks" about US history....
Seems to be a case of Palin hate ala Bachmann....

The little comment about "it didn't matter if you were rich or poor, or "nobility or lower class" ( whatever the hell her exact words were is irrelevant)...the point she was making was valid...we were all the same in this country....she wasn't trying to ignore the biases people endured on a personal basis, like "Irish not welcome" or "No Irish allowed" or anti Semite ism, or Japanese internment camps....as Anderson Cooper was trying to attribute to her....

she was obviously speaking to "equality espoused in the Constitution"...."Like justice for all" and "all men are created equal"...and other such noble words. She was speaking generalities, and obviously "off the cuff".....she wasn't teaching a history class.....

So this is nothing more than a biased media, practicing their character assassination ala Palin as they do every day when it comes to conservatives....

Slavery existed the Spanish colonies as early as 1560 and as early as 1660 in North America....and some of the Founding Fathers did own slaves, as did some Indians and some "freed Africans".......but the point Bachmann was making was that many good men and women in those early days of the country did work to end the practice....and did with the passage of the 13th Amendment in 1865....

In short, its much ado about nothing....

Obama claimed "“In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died — an entire town destroyed.” This happened in 2008, and the actual death toll was 12 ...did Anderson Cooper devote a program to this gaffe???

When Obama said "“Over the last 15 months, we’ve traveled to every corner of the United States. I’ve now been in 57 states? I think one left to go.” ,
did Anderson Cooper devote a program to this stupid gaffe?

Obama claimed, “There was something stirring across the country because of what happened in Selma, Ala., because some folks are willing to march across a bridge. So they got together and Barack Obama Jr. was born.”.....
Actually, Barack Jr. was born 4 years before the Selma march....did Anderson Cooper devote a program to this outright lie ?
Obama was born in 1961. The Selma march took place in 1965.

I could go on, but you should have gotten my point by now....a corrupt media with an agenda...and the Bachmanns and Palins of the country are "in the crosshairs".....

Oh the shrieking has just begun!

John Quincy Adams did support ending slavery.

Unfortunately he was soon replaced by Andrew Jackson, who did. It's interesting that all of the populists supported slavery, while JQA (who was one of the most aristocratic presidents we ever had) did not.

Did Pres. Obama really think there was an Austrian language....even Palin isnt' that dumb....:palm:

Yeah, like you really even had any idea that Austrians were Germans until you read about this.

Since Obama's taken history courses, I think he just had a slip of the tongue or a brain fart. And Bush was dumb, but he wasn't dumb because of his slips of the tongue (surreal as some of them were).

Of course, of course....when Obama says something fuckin' stupid, its a brain fart, a slip of the tongue, he misspoke....
When G. Bush or Sarah Palin or Michelle Bachmann, or even Christine O'Donnell mis-speaks, ...they're just dumb, uneducated boobs.....
Sure we get it....

We heard all the bullshit before.....the fact that Al Gores Yale grades were lower than any semester recorded by George W. Bush is just overlooked....
The fact that John Kerry recorded a lower GPA at Yale than George Bush is also just conveniently ignored.....

The pinheads that make up the Democrat party leaders (and rank and file) aren't even smart enough to see they live in glass houses.....

They only thing they have going for them is a biased leftwing media that makes sure those facts don't get too much press....

And before I forget....Austrians are Austrians, pinhead...and Germans are Germans.....they just speak the same language....

Austrians are a kind of German, just like Prussians, Saxons, etc...

Due to the fact that Prussia wanted to dominate the unified German Empire, Austria, which was the only German state on a similar level of power to the Prussians, was kept out.

Nice try.....but you ain't no Fred Astaire...

Leave the tap dancing and spinning to the pros....

It would have been interesting to see how this thread turned out if the fragrant Ms Bachmann was a Democrat.

Can't we all just agree on pointing at a fucking idiot and calling them a fucking idiot?

Let's look to the future people.

It's very dishonest to claim unemployment is at 20%. And, I think we could go back and look at the reasons we are in the extreme mess we are in. They didn't start with Obama. He's had his hands full trying to fix all the crap left-over from the last administration and still hasn't fixed it. And, no-one else could have either.
