“William Barr, Donald Trump’s former attorney general, said in an interview on Thursday that it would be a “big mistake” for the Republican party to nominate Trump for president in 2024”

“Appearing on the Newsmax television channel, Barr said Trump, who has hinted that he will run again, would not be a sound choice”

“Trump, Barr said, has surrounded himself with “sycophants” and “whack jobs from outside the government, who fed him a steady diet of comforting but unsupported conspiracy theories”.

The fixer, on Newsmax no less

I absolutely agree. I've said it before, and will say it again. We already know that Trump can lose to Brandon, there is no way anyone should nominate him again.

totally agree - if the GOP wants to lose - Trump is the guy. he might not lose, but he might not win either.

Who you gonna choose Damo?

DeSatan?

I'll choose daNotBrandon... Everything the folks running the show in the WH currently have done has been craptacular for America. So, whoever runs against Brandon, or DaNotBrandon will probably get my vote. Unless it is Trump. I'll not vote for that. In fact, if they decide to change the platform to fit "whatever Trump wants" I may just leave. No person is worth that kind of loyalty in American politics.

Your party is trash

Lied us to war

Cheated in elections for decades because their ideas suck ass and destroy everything when implemented

They crash the worldwide economy within years with their broken greed races

Now you dont even believe in them either

What will be your platform without Trump

Just whatever the next Broken Power hungry asshole you pick wants

Your a rudderless ship full of BROKEN assholes

You must be so proud

I absolutely agree. I've said it before, and will say it again. We already know that Trump can lose to Brandon, there is no way anyone should nominate him again.

The problem with your above statement is That the majority of Republicans do not believe Trump lost.

Is the fact that he would likely lose the main reason Republicans shouldn’t nominate him?

Even if you believe he lost through "cheating" or shenanigans, we already know he can lose to Brandon. While this does not mean he will lose if there is a rematch, it does mean that he most certainly can lose... Also, I personally wouldn't vote for him for dogcatcher at this time. But others might.

I figure it is the language to use to convince folks that may want to see him nominated that he shouldn't be. If you remember I said much the same before the election in 2016, but without the evidence of how he could lose to one of the worst candidates I have ever seen run for that office.

You’d vote for daSantis, even though he does not support free speech?

It's why liberals won't stop talking about him. They damn near talk more about Trump than Biden and it's for obvious reasons. They all see Biden's poll numbers and his performance (he's given lip service I believe to wanting to run again but there's no guarantee he does). They also know Harris isn't going to win a national election. She served her role helping to get Biden elected but she's just not next level material. Mayor Pete? That dude isn't winning. Gavin Newsom? Nah. And the Bernie vs Hillary/Biden divide within their party hasn't gone away. But you know who unites those two factions? Trump. And they will turn out again in huge numbers to keep Trump away from the Presidency. Hence why they can't let him go.

But don't bet against the Republicans to F this up and nominate Trump again. I've had this discussion with big Trump supporters who tried to explain why I am wrong and he would win in '24. I don't buy it, at all. But many in the party want to see him run again...

Nor does any Administration that would make a "Disinformation Board" (Ministry of Truth). If he was running against Brandon, yes. I'd likely vote for him.

Anyone CAN lose.

You and I see it the same here. If the Rs nominate Trump they will ensure that in an election year they were nearly given a victory before the vote was cast they decided to circle up the firing squad, take aim, and fire.

But you would fully support and vote for him if he were the nominee even if it was someone other than Biden running as a Democrat

That’s the GOP’s problem, exact reason he owns the GOP, regardless, totally regardless, of what Trump says or does, they will support him, and justify it by saying “I don’t like him but I will vote for him”

Please keep reading the thread. You will find out that your assumption was inane.

Or a Trump style candidate who would galvanize the Democrats also.
