Barr dumps on Trump

”Bill Barr knocks Trump for having verbal skills that ‘are limited”

“Former U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr knocked former President Trump’s verbal skills in Friday comments.”

“His verbal skills are limited,” Barr said at an event at The University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics.”

“Barr said Trump is not very disciplined with what he says. Barr’s comments about the complexity of the former president’s vocabulary prompted laughs from the audience.”

“If you get him away from ‘very, very, very,’ you know, the adjectives … they’re unfamiliar to him and they spill out, and he goes too far,” he said”

It has been tough to tell if Trump’s overuse of superlatives as “tremendous,” “incredible,” “great,” “most or best ever,” not to mention his frequent employment of self serving phrases, “like you’ve never seen,” “never been done before,” “best in history,” was whether Trump was attempting to talk down to the level of his audience or if he really did posses a third grade dictionary vocabulary. And we weren’t even taking into consideration “covfefe” or “bigly”

Appears Barr thinks the later
A statement Barr could have made in 2019. He’s really trying to claw back his reputation. It won’t work.

trump loves to exaggerate when discussing his supposed achievements. Which are all lies.
A lot of his superlatives are timing mechanisms. He spouts nonsense as his mind is contemplating the next lie.

Trump doesn't contemplate much of anything. He is almost totally visceral. If he had started out with forty dollars instead of four hundred million we would never have heard of him.

When trump is forced to read a script, his third grade reading level is evident. His affect is always off, and he swallows the last word in each sentence.

He often dumps the script and just riffs. Which is when he is much less coherent, but his delivery is smoother.

trump wasn't just born on third base. He was born rounding third and heading for home, and he thinks he hit a home run.

I think it's both to a degree. He wants them to believe that he's the best ever, and that *they* are the best for realizing that and following him. His vocabulary IS limited though. His RW audience is fine with that; he speaks with small, forceful words that aren't hard to understand. He has a different demeanor when addressing a group of business people, but still sticks to the same sort of simple phrases.
