“Banning gun sales to young American adults under 21 is unconstitutional, judge rules

That's ok for voting.

Maybe ok for firearms ownership too--I owned guns as a teenager, but rather easily managed not to cap anyone's ass with them. Everybody isn't I, though.

Not necessary for driving, certainly.

Not necessary for drinking, either.

A college kid not being able to order a bottle of wine when taking his girlfriend to dinner is fucking ridiculous.

A sophisticated European would understand that, but perhaps not a Middle-American fuckwit.

Maybe Cuba or Venezuela are more to your liking halfwit. :palm:

An ironically stupid statement made in ignorance rather than historic knowledge.

Wrong again halfwit. It triggers low IQ leftist morons that failed basic history.
More word salad from a lying leftist halfwit. It never occurs to Government loving leftist halfwits that Governments have murdered and caused more human misery than all other actions.
So claims the halfwit who can barely tie his shoes.
More proof of what a miserable, uneducated dumbass you are. :palm:
Wrong; about 36% are seriously stupid mental cases, you being the best example.

You're seriously deficient, Bullshit Blob, but harmless enough, except at the ballot box, perhaps.

You're very deficient in intelligence.
You're very deficient in wisdom.
You're very deficient in sanity.

You're obviously deficient in morality as well, but we can blame that on the three primary deficiencies, perhaps.

For the time being, you have an open mic, off the ignore list,
and that means that I'm temporarily exploiting you for entertainment.
You don't mind. You're usually content to be used, right?

But Bullshit Blob, you are a sadly pathetic fuckwit
without the brains to stay off the internet
rather than exposing your laughable but at the same time sad
deficiencies to the entire world.

I'm not proud to exploit you for my personal entertainment,
but I'm only human,
and no human, not even Nifty Niblick himself,
is absolutely perfect.

This is a ranting, lying leftist loon. One does not debate or argue with a ranting, lying leftist loon. One can only point at them and laugh.

The fat that it isn't true makes it hard to understand.
so you think that the articles in the declaration of independence were just petty grievances that the founders should have learned to live with?

Electing assholes leads to tyranny, but unless the next election has been cancelled,

the tyrants haven't accomplished their goal yet,
saddam hussein still had elections........but i guess he wasn't a tyrant, right?

and are easily vanquished

without fucking brain dead cracker militia members

who will with certainty make things worse.

how many decades have you harbored this hate for your fellow American?

A ranting, lying leftist asshole would be him, her, or it, but never "them."

You're too easy, Bullshit Blob.
You find ways to make me laugh at you in front of everybody.

We have more that one type of American.

We have United States of....Americans.

We have crackers, i.e., Confederate States of....Americans.

The NRA Second Amendment morons tend to be the latter.

They're fairly easy to hate, don't you think?

So there should be no age limit for buying guns. Save your paper route money and buy an AR. The World will be safer according to gun lusters.

boohoo. is an 18 year old that can join the armed forces, vote, drive, and get married an adult or not? If they are, they get ALL the rights afforded to adults. If not, stop talking about letting 16 year olds vote and 14 year olds opting to transition to another gender.

Didn’t talk about either, I ain’t over over concerned about what is in between another persons legs, so when does common sense and public safety supersede? If there were no gun restrictions on teenagers back in Colonial Days, how can there be now?

"The times they are a changing'' - Bob Dylan

It made sense at the time the amendment was written. At that time, the "militia" consisted of all able bodied male adults in a particular location, town, county, state, whatever. They were expected to have access to a military grade firearm and could be called out for service during a war.

That has changed with time. Today it works more like this with respect to the 2nd Amendment:

You have the Organized Militia which today is called the National Guard. Then you have the unorganized militia that consists of able bodied adults who are expected to turn out in a national emergency / war if needed and provide their own arms when doing so.

Wait a minute, you telling us teenagers didn’t fight in the Revolution? That they were banned from owning guns back then?

And it always cracks me up how some are now able to define what the Founders meant by “militia,” even Scalia, the greatest proponent of the shame Originalism bullshit, admitted he couldn’t find an answer. And, nothing personal, but the the “unorganized militia” bit is comical, now ordinary Americans are going to go to war and bring their own weapons?

They either are adults, or not. If they are old enough to vote, they're old enough to buy a firearm.

Also, Fentanyl far outstrips firearms in child deaths - your constant lies get old.

You are a nonentity here until you can support some of the flat out lies you echoed on this forum, we can begin with Kagan supposedly leaking Supreme Court decisions, and Alito never said it was here

Begin anytime

“RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — A federal judge in Virginia has ruled that a law banning licensed federal firearms dealers from selling handguns to young adults under 21 violates the Second Amendment and is unconstitutional.”

“The ruling Wednesday by U.S. District Court Judge Robert Payne in Richmond, if not overturned, would allow dealers to sell handguns to 18- to 20-year-olds.”

“Payne’s ruling is the latest decision striking down gun laws in the wake of a landmark Supreme Court ruling last year. The Supreme Court said judges should no longer consider whether the law serves public interests, like enhancing public safety”

“Payne, who cited the 2022 Supreme Court ruling repeatedly in his ruling, wrote that the government failed to present “any evidence of age-based restrictions on the purchase or sale of firearms from the colonial era, Founding or Early Republic.”

“Not only are guns the leading cause of death for U.S. kids and teens, but research shows us that 18- to 20-year-olds commit gun homicides at triple the rate of adults 21 years and older”

https://apnews.com/article/handgun-...nstitutional-7428370490abe5f90a5fcf8aad7a4020

So in other words, how can age restrictions on nearly anything be legal given such as restrictions on alcohol consumption or say child labor weren’t around in the 18th Century? How can guns be barred from anywhere, ie, bars, NFL games, anywhere, since they were allowed at public events three centuries ago? It defies common sense

Amazing how Thomas’s sophomoric interpretation of history is now accepted cause six ideologues with a political agenda confirmed it was accurate? And now even public safety, “the right to life,” can’t be considered a factor in weighing gun decisions

Appears the “well regulated militia” has no regulations

If the Founding Fathers had wanted restrictions on guns by age, they would have done so.

I had a .410 shotgun at age 12 and a 12 gauge at age 14 ...for hunting.

I never shot any one, Anchovies,.

Stop whining.

the founders knowledge and experience taught them that governments lead to tyranny. what's hard for you to understand about that?

And when has the US Government ever led to tyranny?

The Founders were concerned with Monarchies, which is why they established a democratic republic and included elections as the cornerstone, not gun toting civilians

Right, so I guess guess then that the Founders never mentioned child labor so they supported it, your logic is as adolescent as Thomas’s

Good point, but we have to admit, Monarchy looks pretty good about now.

With Liz Warren as Queen and AOC as Prime Minister, we'd be the envy of the universe.

In a narrow 5–4 majority, delivered by Antonin Scalia, the Supreme Court held that self-defense was the “central component” of the amendment and that the District of Columbia's “prohibition against rendering any lawful firearm in the home operable for the purpose of immediate self-defense” to be unconstitutional.

Scalia wrote the majority opinion.

The four who voted against it do not believe in the Constitution of the U.S., Anchovies.
