And it's there for the reading. Anyone with Internet access can read it and know 90% of what's to be known about the phenomenon.
Yeah, al-Baghdadi was a legitimate scholar in addition to a radical imam. He knows his history and he knows the role Islam played in it.
That's what's wrong-headed about this insistence that radical Islam is a result of Iraq or even what has gone on the last 40 years. Granted, the dissolution of Iraq provided a group like ISIS an opportunity to form a caliphate. But it's wrong to say we 'created' them. It would be just as wrong to say you 'created' a thief if you walked off and let your front door unlocked and your house got broke into.
