Back from Afghanistan

Yeah, sometimes I do windsprints, and I've also been told that the heart rate setting on an exercize bike is good. I just need to keep up the interval training. Since I have easy access to my college, instead of just running the track, I also need to run up and down the Grand Staircase on occassions, the way many of the runners do.
Intervals are a good idea but their really intended as anaerobic conditioning after you've established a baseline of aerobic fitness. Stick strictly to aerobic LSD runs for a couple of months using an HRM, then alternate between doing an LSD one day and either sprint intervals the next or race pace (anaerobic threshold) work out but the point being, you really need to develop your aerobic base before you start doing speed work or more then likely you'll suffer an injury, shin splints, a turned ankle, strained knee, etc.
