After finishing second from the bottom of the pile in Tuesday's Iowa caucuses, Michele Bachman has cancelled her previously planned trip to South Carolina and suspended her campaign.
Bachmann was supposed to arrive in South Carolina on Wednesday morning.
The Minnesota Congresswoman staked her candidacy on Iowa, the state in which she was born and raised, but by the time all the votes were counted Tuesday night, Bachmann could only muster about five percent of the votes, and announced Wednesday her campaign is over.
