BAC, Nancy Pelosi is leaving you out

Not trying to be contentious good sister .. but do you agree that Obama conducts the Bush foreign policy?

I know you were talking to evince - but no, I don't think so. Again - ended Iraq; ending Afghanistan; didn't lead on Libya; hasn't put a lot of troops into Syria (yet at least). And I think in general he is willing to interact with the rest of the world as a partner, not a dictator than Bush was.

Iraq ended according to the deal worked out by Bush. Obama simply didn't interfere.

Afghanistan... Obama ramped it up dramatically, saying he is ending it now is hardly a plus.

Libya... yes, he led from behind etc...

Syria... Are we not arming the opposition?

What made Bush a dictator in your opinion?

You are indeed one of several very intelligent women on this board that makes posting here an enjoyable and learning experience good sister. But I disagree with you on this point. What SF posted is the absolute truth.

The Status of Forces Agreement ended the war in Iraq .. not Obama. Obama tried to twist the arms of Iraqi leadership to keep US forces in Iraq beyond the already agreed upon withdrawal date . and the Iraqis said no.

Obama should have ended the war in Afghanistan long ago .. instead he accelerated it and wasted countless precious taxpayer dollars on a war lost long ago.

Yes, he led on Libya from behind, and like Bush, destroyed a small nation that posed no threat to the US whatsoever .. and he used Al Queda terrorists to do it. That's an extension of the Bush foreign policy that even Bush didn't do. Under Obama, America is now fully in bed with the very organization that was supposed to be behind 9/11 .. and Obama's actions in Libya and Syria are proof of that.

Nearly everywhere Obama goes these days he is met with protests .. even in Africa. He has not drawn the world closer, he has appalled much of the world .. appalled by his adhering so closely to the Bush foreign policy when like most Americans, they expected much better.

I would love to be singing an entirely different song about the first black presidient, unfortunately I cannot.

Darn, BAC, how can you make me feel so good when you're telling me I'm wrong? (grin) There are some posters on this board that could learn from you!

(ps - I don't agree with all you said, but you said it so nicely!)

I just saw this ..

US Downplays Possibility of Leaving Afghanistan After 2014
'We Have Promised to Stay'

Just days after US officials started claiming that because of their frustration with Afghan President Hamid Karzai the Obama Administration is giving serious consideration to ending the Afghan occupation, officials are quickly downplaying that prospect.

State Department official James Dobbins dismissed the prospect out of hand, bragging about the “remarkable outcomes” of the occupation and insisting that “the Afghans actually need us to stay,” adding “we have promised to stay.”

Sen. Robert Menendez (D – NJ) also suggested the “zero option” of leaving wasn’t serious, insisting the US is committed to a “long-term partnership” with Afghanistan.

The deal to keep troops in Afghanistan beyond 2014 hasn’t been finalized, and Karzai suspended talks to protest being sidelined in the US-Taliban talks. Karzai’s term in office ends in early 2014, however, and some have suggested his successor may be easier to make a deal with.

They promised they would stay to WHO?

That isn't what they promised the American people .. and once again demonstrates that Obama cannot be trusted.
