Austin Metcalf murder

The video, recorded on a fixed camera at David Kuykendall Stadium, did not show any fighting, pushing or physical altercation between the boys prior to the knifing.

Instead, the clip viewed by Daily Mail at school district headquarters, showed several people sitting under the Memorial High School team tent.

Without any kind of apparent escalation, people can be seen running and walking away from the tent.

The surveillance appears to challenge the self-defense claim made by the murder suspect, offering little visible evidence that Anthony was in immediate danger before the attack.

How does a clip showing "several people" without identifying the two people in question or the time and place of the incident shed any light at all? I realize this of course is enough for you.

We'll see, won't we? First degree murder is a serious charge. There must be a lot of information that law enforcement has not released to the public yet. I suggest you dry your panties until the trial.

Nazi perverts just hate anyone who is African-American. They're also too fucking stupid to realize that there are multiple witnesses to testify for either the defense or the prosecution.

Even Metcalf's own friends stated in the police report that Metcalf was shoving Anthony when he stabbing happened. That would be two altercations that definitely happened, and supposedly are not shown on the video, so what they saw supposedly did not have the details.

They continue to slow walk the evidence to the defense, which is a bad sign. If the evidence were good, they would want to get it to the defense as quickly as possible.

Why don't you ask the court to allow you to take him in foster care instead of prison?

What the fuck is really wrong with you?

Why can't you accept there are truly feral humans among us?

The trial will be interesting since all of those witnesses will be under oath and on the stand.

Obviously, the grand jury thought there was enough evidence for a "murder" charge (2nd degree murder in other states) since Anthony clearly did stab and kill Metcalf. Whether it was justifiable self-defense remains to be adjudicated.

From Anthony's confession it was a single stab wound to the chest. It's both Anthony's and Metcalf's bad luck that the single stab went into the latter's heart. A lot will depend upon the size of the knife.

Although it's illegal for an unaccompanied minor to carry a knife with a blade over 5.5 inches long. It's also illegal for a student to carry a knife at a school or school function, which this obviously was. Anthony is guilty of at least two charges, carrying a knife by an unaccompanied minor and carrying a knife in a restricted area. If the blade was over 5.5 inches long, he'll be guilty of that too regardless if acquitted on the murder charge.

Prohibited Knives
Texas no longer has a list of prohibited knives as of 2017. However, any knife with a blade longer than 5.5 inches is considered a location-restricted knife, meaning it cannot be carried in certain places like schools, churches, hospitals, or amusement parks. Minors under 18 are not allowed to carry these knives unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

In most of the world, self-defense would be almost bizarre to claim. There is what is called an obligation to retreat. If Anthony felt endangered, he was required to retreat to safety in most of the world.

Texas has stand-your-ground. There is absolutely no requirement to retreat, even when retreating would be easy, and safer. Beyond that, the danger can be very abstract. An angry tone to words has been considered enough to cite self defense.

Metcalf was shoving Anthony out of the tent, but was also shoving him on stairs(breachers technically, but it causes the same deaths). Shoving on stairs can lead to falling on stairs, and death. Being surrounded by a bunch of angry teens can also lead to death. Both makes it reasonable for Anthony to fear for his life. And again, under Texas law Anthony did not have to retreat, or risk waiting until the threat was acute.

Texas Law seems to be very much on Anthony's side, but there is another thing going on. It is called racism. Stand-your-ground seems to be very much for whites only.

The knife does not appear to be over 5.5 inches. Part of the reason that in penetrated so far was Metcalf was putting his entire body's force into trying to shove Anthony on the breachers. If it were over 5.5 inches, prosecutors would stack those charges on to try to make Anthony look more guilty.

The carrying a knife on school campus charge is a $500 fine. Whether it is a school violation or not is questionable, but if it is, he might be suspended from school also. Even if the knife is over 5.5 inches, it is difficult to get jail time out of it, but prosecutors would probably pursue it during the murder trial/grand jury just to make Anthony look like a criminal. They did not appear to have during the grand jury.

Once again, we are mostly talking about a $500 fine here.
