The Atlantic Ocean is unusually warm right now. Here’s why scientists say that’s “deeply troubling.”

If you were to dip your toes into the middle of the North Atlantic — say, somewhere between South Carolina and Spain — the water would feel frigid. You definitely wouldn’t want to swim. It’s winter.

Yet that water would, in fact, be very warm, relatively speaking. Right now, the North Atlantic ocean is, on average, warmer than any other time on record, running about 2 degrees Fahrenheit hotter than the average temperature over the last three decades.

To understand just how unusual this is, take a look at the chart below. The wave of squiggly lines represents the sea surface temperature, averaged across the North Atlantic, from 1981 to now; each squiggle is a different year.

The thick orangey-red line that runs the length of the chart and hovers above nearly all the others is from 2023. The North Atlantic started breaking heat temperature records in March of last year.

Even more alarming is the departure that the new, shorter line from 2024 represents. It’s far above the rest, indicating this extreme, anomalous increase has continued into this year.

“It’s significantly warmer than it ever has been for this time of year,” Brian McNoldy, a climate researcher at the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School, told Vox. “This is deeply troubling,” he recently wrote on X.

All this heat is not only a problem for marine ecosystems today, scientists say. It’s also a warning of what could come — including what could put human life in harm’s way.

What makes it turn east from it's northward flow is melted glacier water from the north, from our temperature rise . This will make Europe as cold as Canada. The more glaciers that melt the further it will push the Currant from south American south. Moving the heat into north Africa, Something they definitely don't need. So what does that mean , it means that global warming will make Europe colder. Now we know the MAGA's are to stupid to understand this but it still has to be shared to people who have the capacity to think to have this information.

Energy has no color, Sock. 60% of China's electricity production is by coal. Almost all the rest is by hydro. Small amounts are generated by nuclear energy, and a very tiny part is by wind or solar (the most expensive methods of producing power, watt for watt).

They have suffered the smoke, smog, and pollution.

And they modernized their coal plants so they no longer produce it.

They are into solar panels, windmills and nuclear energy.

No, they aren't. These form a very tiny fraction of the electricity generated in China.

Solar power is the most expensive method of generating electricity there is. Nuclear power is FAR cheaper!
Wind comes in a close second.

Most power in the United States comes from coal and natural gas, both cheap sources of energy. Natural gas is a renewable energy source as well. So is oil for gasoline.

The Church of Green calls solar panels and windmills 'green energy'. China uses very little of it to generate energy. They are the most expensive method of generating electricity there is. It's piddle power.

You obviously have no clue about ocean currents and what drives them.

You cannot move heat. Heat is not contained in anything. You obvious have no idea what 'heat' is either.

There is no warm current from America to Europe (other than an occasional equatorial counter current, which is pinched off from time to time just like the Pacific one is).
The primary current from North America to Europe is a cold current. When that cold current reaches Europe, it flows SOUTH, not north.

Some glaciers melt, others stay the same, and others advance.

According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), solar facilities for both homes and businesses have experienced dramatic growth in recent years as the world aims to curb planet-warming pollution.
In September 2022, U.S. solar-generated electricity surpassed hydropower for the first time. EIA data showed that solar power produced about 19 billion kilowatt hours (kWh) compared with 17 billion kWh of electricity from hydroelectric dams.*
After solar outpaced hydro again in the summer of 2023, the administration forecasted annual solar power production exceeding hydropower in 2024.*
For decades, energy companies have constructed far more solar farms than hydroelectric dams due to declining costs, improved efficiency, and rising demand for sun-powered energy. In fact, the EIA found that from 2009 to 2022, solar energy capacity increased by about 44% per year, while hydroelectric development averaged less than 1% annually.*
As more solar power becomes available, it can help cool our overheating planet since it doesn’t emit harmful pollution to produce electricity as dirty energy sources do. Also, if you’re worried about outrageous electric bills due to sweltering temperatures, installing solar panels may give you — and your bank account — more security.*
According to solar energy company EcoFlow, most homeowners could save about $120 per month on their electric bill, on average, with a typical solar setup (though savings are affected by numerous factors). I like this but one thing has to be met to keep this going , MAGA's has to go, They will die for the oil company's. The sun will win out but maybe not here.
