At Least 1 Dead in Shooting at Texas Church

So essentially you want to make it an extremely arduous process that one must go through to purchase a gun with the assumption that it would be such a turn off that almost no one would want to go through it. Good luck with that.

Except for the elite!

silly child.......for some reason you don't realize you've been done since before you started.......you want change that is unconstitutional without bothering to change the constitution........its' just not going to happen......

Another one late to the party, ain't unconstitutional nor does anyone have to change the Constitution, and try to be more original next time

Amazing how someone with a gun stopped the shooter in one second and the shooter was stopped from killing more!

Yeah-- every church should post snipers in the rafters and train a pulpit-mounted bazooka on the entrance door.

Very difficult, just as it is stopping a drug addict from getting drugs, does that mean we just give up and live with thirty thousand plus Americans a year dying from gun violence?

And it often isn't criminals doing these shootings, as I noted above, Stephen Paddock wasn't a criminal till the moment he pulled the trigger

Are you suggesting that someone who wants to attain an illegal drug, is able to do so; but you're idea is to stop law abiding citizens the ability to have their 2nd Amendment rights and that's going to put a stop to acts like this??

Arduous process?

Make it similar to autos, we all jump hurdles to get a car on the road, but that hasn't stopped those who really want one, anything is worth the effort unless you want to live with mass shootings, school shootings, and church shootings as routine

Have those regulations stopped people from DUI's or using their cars as weapons??

In this scenario what is going to prevent me from buying a gun on the black market? (and that's not a rhetorical question) To me, if I'm intent on shooting someone I'm not going to worry about whether I purchase my gun legally or not.

HELL; there's enough information out there, that you could make your own out of common hardware material.

Great to see you, Cawacko. Hope you had a good Christmas. I drop in once in a while to see what’s happening. Can’t stomach most of what I read...kind of like that OU game last night. Ugh...we got our butts whipped but good.

Here’s a link to some light reading to see what we gun owners are trying to avoid happening here.

https://www.quora.com/How-can-I-buy-a-gun-in-the-UK#

Also, it is my understanding that confiscation, fines, jail time or any combination of the three can happen if a gun isn’t “properly stored.” This pic I snapped in my living room just now (below) doesn’t show proper storage per their laws and I would at least incur a hefty fine. I’d hate for them to see the one on my dresser or the one beside my bed. It is also my understanding that in some towns you can’t even keep a gun in your home. If you “own” one it has to be kept at your shooting club and you have to go check it out to use it....there.

Not to mention that the guns my son, nephew and I used Friday while hunting would be illegal to purchase there.

But enacting and enforcing those types of laws seem to be the aim of many here.

Hope you and your family have a blessed new year.

100% with you on trouble reading most of what is posted here. It's sad really. And yeah, tough game from a OU perspective.

I'll check this out. What you say makes sense. Thanks for the info.

Has not drunk driving deaths declines dramatically since DWI laws were enforced?

How many terrorists have gotten a truck and rammed a crowd killing 50 plus compared to the hundreds of mass shootings we've had killing thousands

There were 406 mass shootings in 2019, and that includes schools, churches, theaters, malls, parking lots, nightclubs, etc., and you are telling us that is acceptable?

And how many people have DUI drivers killed in 2019?

No, my concern is with that which kills the most the fastest

How many people do you think could be killed with just a tennis ball, packed with black powder, wrapped in duct tape, covered in glue, rolled in small ball bearings, and with a firecracker for a fuse??

Ah, Stephen Paddock was a good guy with a gun up until he pulled the trigger, which is often the case with mass shooters

NO, he stopped being a "good guy" when he made the decision that he was going to do what he did; unless you have information that the idea came to him, just prior to pulling that trigger!!

"cawacko" you are going in circles here, and today you don't have to go ends to obtain a gun legally, access to the Internet will do it, point being by raising hurdles to access is going to discourage a large number of individuals as yourself from going after a gun and killing innocent people besides the individual you want to kill

How does access to the internet allow anyone to obtain a gun legally??
