Canada has its own problems, especially with regard to the systemic and historical mistreatment of indigenous people. People of good conscience work to correct this. I don't represent Canada, and this thread has nothing to do with Canada -- except through your attempts at a red herring. This thread is about Socialist hatred for Whites and Christians? You need a serious lesson on reading comprehension. Here's the original post:

I was withholding judgement until more facts came in. But I couldn't help but notice there were many jpp.com posters of the rightwing variety that immediately leaped to the unsubstantiated conclusion that the Texas shooter was Muslim, Antifa, or perhaps some kind of radicalized Kenyan-Muslim-Marxist.

If you have a habit of leaping to a conclusion based on nothing more than sheer conjecture, speculation, and guesswork can you please, never, ever, under any circumstances try to serve on a jury? Innocent people's lives and freedom could hang in the balance!

Now show me where the poster referenced socialists hatred for Whites and Christians. You're either a good liar or listening to Rush Limpballs has really turned your brain to mush.

I actually feel a degree of sympathy for 'traditional conservatives' that have to somehow exist in this perversion of conservatism called Trumpism. As long as they don't try to collude with Trump in order to get tax cuts, because that's an extreme example of "the ends justify the means", which is a morally bankrupt and indefensible position. The Republican party has been courting these people (Trumper types) for decades and it was only a matter of time before they up-ended the party. As I've been saying since the Tea Party era (which was a rejection of the preceding Bush era and also Obama), the Republicans have been teetering on the edge of having a lack of ideology for years -- and now that time has come to pass.

The Republican party has been since the Reagan era a party of loosely held-together ideologies. But as the intellectual, respectable wing has declined in power, the nationalist wing ascended. And I don't know how conservatives will fix the party after the nationalism fades.

Both parties will continue to evolve, they always do. And yes as a Reagan Republican I used to be the heart of the party but not any longer. Where will it go in the future? Your guess is as good as mine.

I think we will get some form of what worked with Reagan/Bush. I always felt the Tea Party was a transitional movement. Trumpsim is destined for the ash-bin of history. Unfortunately I think the collateral pull of Trump's sinking ship will be significant and catastrophic for those Republicans that have aligned with it. I say 'unfortunately', because as liberal as I am, the world truly needs the opposing viewpoint. Against Trumpism, it does feel like a battle of good versus evil -- not liberal versus conservative.

I miss the days when both sides could look at each other and see decency, even for a moment.

Obamacare was based on Republican ideas and the implementation of Romneycare. Fully backed by the Heritage Foundation until Obama implemented it. Obama and Democrats thought that if they offered compromise from the get-go, Republican would be on-board. Since it was rooted in their ideas.
