When a person scratches and head butts a cop trying to arrest them, you would expect the resisting arrest, battery on a cop, and all the other charges that a prosecutor could stack against you for us mundanes having the temerity to fight with the state, but when the assaulter is a cop, guess what you get?

A former Kansas City police officer who scratched a state trooper and head-butted a colleague during her February arrest for drunken driving pleaded guilty Wednesday in Clay County.

Megan Laffoon, 29, also faced charges of resisting arrest and assault. Those charges were dropped.

A judge sentenced Laffoon to two years’ probation and 96 hours of shock time on the drunken-driving charge, meaning she will spend four days in jail.
