You're probably aware that up to this point, despite exporting less, ... and because of increased prices, Russia's oil/gas revenues actually increased. And Russia is still exporting to Europe via the land based Ukraine pipeline and has found other customers. Overall, Russia will suffer little or no loss in revenue.

That's about right. However, socialism is not a form of government. It is a form of economy. Pretty much all nations have capitalism, fascism, and communism within them.
In Russia, North Korea, and China, socialism is the predominant form of economy. Since socialism is theft, governments must become tyrants to conduct that theft. The form of government therefore is usually a dictatorship or oligarchy.
Currently, North Korea is a dictatorship. So is Canada. China is an oligarchy. So is Russia. So is the UK. So is the former federal government of the United States.
Socialism takes three major forms: communism, where government owns markets; fascism, where government manipulates markets; and slavery, or ownership of men. ALL are theft of wealth. ALL require tyranny to implement.
Capitalism is the voluntary creation of products and services sold voluntarily to anyone that wants to buy it at an agree upon price. It is the only system that creates wealth. Socialism is only theft of wealth. Indeed, socialism cannot exist without capitalism to steal from.
