As Renewables Falter, Environmentalists Stand Up For Nuclear

Ah... I suspect you are scared I'm baiting you with a question. Well, you are correct-- my being knowledgeable on things nuclear. I anticipated you'd prove completely unknowledgeable on the subject.

Get in line and don't be a pompous prick, there's a good chap.

Comrade maggot, your article claims a whole ' several dozen ' . You claim ' very many '. Even adding yourself and the pompous prick to the total does not constitute ' very many'. Come forth and explain your apparent deceit.

Nuclear is a deadly and unsustainable folly. Let those who favor it take the waste home with them.

China is rapidly building a world-beating wind energy revolution
Despite a pandemic, China is busy building swathes of wind farms and will soon overtake the UK’s booming offshore industry

An army of sea giants is emerging along China’s coastline. Mysterious and magnificent, they rise up from the waves, limbs outstretched, gently whirring in the breeze. From north of Shanghai down to Hong Kong, across a thousand-mile stretch of water, hundreds of these otherworldly creations will one day be able to provide enough energy to power millions of homes and businesses.

With the pandemic and the climate crisis still raging, China has been steadily building up its wind warms over land and sea. Despite Covid-19 grinding much of the world to a halt, China’s drive to conquer the global renewable energy market continues apace: it’s constructing more offshore wind capacity than the rest of the world combined.

And us ? We've got a nuclear Comrade maggot and his ilk hanging 'round our necks .

Rolls-Royce plans 16 mini-nuclear plants for UK

A consortium led by Rolls-Royce has announced plans to build up to 16 mini-nuclear plants in the UK. It says the project will create 6,000 new jobs in the Midlands and the North of England over the next five years.

The prime minister is understood to be poised to announce at least £200m for the project as part of a long-delayed green plan for economic recovery.

Rolls-Royce argues that as well as producing low-carbon electricity, the concept may become an export industry. The company's UK "small modular reactor" (SMR) group includes the National Nuclear Laboratory and the building company Laing O'Rourke. Last year, it received £18m to begin the design effort for the SMR concept.

But there is a nuclear-sized hole opening up in the energy network. Six of the UK's seven nuclear reactor sites are due to go offline by 2030 and the remaining one, Sizewell B, is due to be decommissioned in 2035.

Nuclear is a nice idea - but generationally irresponsible.

Utter bullshit. You want generationally?

In 1920 oil was the big thing
In 1820 coal was the big thing
In 1720 we chopped down forests for energy

In 2020 Germany, the leader in "green" energy they're chopping down forests to make fuel for pellet stoves...

Nuclear is clean, safe, and reliable. The waste is entirely alpha and beta emitters with small amounts of gamma. If that last sentence made no sense to you, then you have no relevant position on nuclear power as you haven't got a clue about how it works or how things nuclear work.

Nuclear is a deadly and unsustainable folly. Let those who favor it take the waste home with them.

Moon, I'll happily debate you on this because I can tell you are an engineering and scientific illiterate who knows nothing about nuclear power or anything to do with it.

If it were legal, I'd have a reactor in my swimming pool in my backyard and supply the whole damn neighborhood with reliable electrical power. It's the scientific illiterates like you that are keeping nuclear power from happening.

So, come on! I dare you! Hit me with your best shot on why nuclear shouldn't be the future of electrical generation!

Wasting your time with that fool, total shit for brains!
