Fascists also still exist in the United States today. Fascism is also a form of socialism. Currently, the Democrats are intent on implementing fascism by oligarchy. I call it the SODC now.
This has already happened in the SOTC and the SOTNY. There are currently 48 States in the States of America, and they are now each deciding whether to align with the SODC or to secede and attempt to reestablish a republic and a United States again.

Right now it's a cold civil war. As I see it, the antagonists are as follows:
The Democrat Party, currently converting the federal government into fascism by oligarchy. They do not recognize any constitution. They are allied with China and Russia.
The Republican Party Never Trumpers and other RINOS. They are actually Democrats in disguise. Spies, if you will. They are not necessarily allied with either China or Russia, but some members may be.
The Republican Party, MAGA Party, Tea Party or the people that are conservatives and want a republic re-established. An alliance seems to be building with France, though it is not yet fully established.
The violent factions of Antifa and BLM, supported and funded by the Democrat party, but have now become a monster they can no longer control. They both desire to implement fascism by oligarchy (or even by dictatorship, though no dictator has appeared yet), but with themselves in control as the 'Elite'. They favor looting and pillaging, as well as insurrection. Their alliance has been the Democrat Party, but that alliance is currently strained.
The Useful Idiots. Currently, they support the Democrats, but they are getting shafted by the Democrats just like everyone else. They are slowly discovering that they are NOT going to the Elite. They are currently allied with the Democrat Party.
Big Tech such as Twitter, Facebook, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, etc; they also want to implement a fascism by oligarchy, but again with themselves as the Elite. They favor censorship and total control of all communications. They are currently allied with the Democrat Party.
Fake Media such as CNN, MSNBC, Washington Post, NY Times, LA Times, Associated Press, NPR, Fox, etc. They support the Big Tech oligarchy, but they want to be the Elite instead. They are currently allied with the Democrat Party.
Private radical militia and wacky 'end of the world' groups. There are violent factions, instead of looting and pillaging like Antifa and BLM, they favor fundamentalism and fear mongering. They are not allied with anyone. They are radicals. In general these people have placed the federal government as an enemy, particularly the BATF, the FBI, the CIA, the Bureau of Land Management, the Dept of Homeland Security, and the NSA.
So many factions...all vying for control of the government.

I'm going to have to call a false dichotomy on this one. It isn't quite so binary.
There are those out there that have enough. Not a billion dollars, but enough to live on comfortably. There are those that are very rich. There are also those that are very poor. Most folks are in the middle somewhere.
It is true that a lot of people have lost the jobs and their business to Democrat idiocy. It is also true that they now have great anger against the Democrats. Some of them were Useful Idiots. They are now finding out that they are NOT the Elite after all. They are getting screwed like everybody else.
