As of January 2nd Obama...

.......... has spent nearly 48 percent of his presidency — outside of Washington…

(Washington Examiner) — On “Meet the Press” December 26, top White House adviser Valerie Jarrett said President Obama’s “biggest regret” is that the severity of the economic crisis forced him to “spend almost every waking hour in Washington focusing very hard on solving that crisis” and thus kept him from traveling the country to connect with the American people. According to Jarrett, Obama recently told aides, “I really want to figure out a way where I can spend more time outside of Washington listening and learning and engaging the American people.” Jarrett says that in 2011 the president’s schedule will “reflect that priority” — that is, include more time outside the nation’s capital.

But it turns out Obama has already spent nearly half his presidency outside Washington. As of January 2, Obama has been president for 712 days. According to figures compiled by CBS News reporter Mark Knoller, who serves as a sort of unofficial White House record-keeper, Obama has spent 339 of those days — nearly 48 percent — outside Washington.

Now if we can get him to spend the other 52% of his time out of Washington....

Hasn't that been your goal from the outset?

President Obama’s “biggest regret” is that the severity of the economic crisis forced him to “spend almost every waking hour in Washington focusing very hard on solving that crisis”

This is yet another documented lie by The Obama.:good4u:

I guess Washington is the only place with phones and other communications devices, who knew. Thanks to the conservative Bravo, we are today more educated than yesterday.

He didn't say he was.

He said he'd spent "almost every waking hour in Washington focusing very hard on solving that crisis"

That means that while he's awake and in Washington, that's what he is doing.

Or it means that he claims to have spent almost every waking hour in Washington, which is a lie.

The one thing I didn't read in either the article or the transcript is that the time outside Washington was vacation time. So why don't you compare apples to apples with some former presidents, i.e. days spent on business travel outside DC vs. days spent on vacation.

You probably don't want to know that your heroes reagan and bush broke records for the amount of vacation time they took while in office.

I guess Washington is the only place with phones and other communications devices, who knew. Thanks to the conservative Bravo, we are today more educated than yesterday.
You could, quite literally, take a post from a "Bush on vacation again" thread, created by you most likely, from 3 years ago and post this in that thread from a conservative.

While I agree with that sarcasm, it is funny coming from one of the ones who insisted Bush spent all his time on 'vacation' because he went to Crawford so much.
