As democrats, I think it is now time to quit demanding that people get vaccinated

bullshit. for kids, it should be mandated, not for adults. besides, dumbass, we have airbags now. and even if not, so what? i guess you would want the government to ban motorcycles because a loved one might die. screw that shit. seat belt mandates, helmet mandates, are bullshit. because they do not affect others enough to justify government intervention.

Nothing in any State constitution gives the authority to the government to mandate seat belts. This is true not just in cars, but in aircraft.

That said, seat belts are a very cheap device that saves lives. They actually work, and quite well.
Airbags don't always go off. An accident severe enough to cause injury may not set off the airbag at all.
Airbags are also a hazard to some passengers (that are not tall enough, such as children and midgets), and can KILL in those instances.
Airbags are also a hazard to automotive technicians. These are explosive devices that must be disabled before working on the car.

Helmets can be useful, especially on motorcycles. It should be up to the rider to determine if he wants to wear a helmet.

Lefty's question, while rhetorical, is not BS. Obviously, no one wants a body flying into a windshield. Seat belts may or may not prevent this. depending on the damage to the cabin of the car. Not even an airbag can prevent this in all cases.

These laws are the result of insurance agencies, trying to reduce their cost of expensive accidents.

Another factor that is not being considered here, and should be, is the improved roadways. Signposts and lampposts break away now, instead of smashing the car. Buried leading ends of guardrails means they won't wind up skewering people in the car. Jersey barriers that throw the car back away from an opposing lane or dangerous barrier means hitting one will reduce the chance of serious injury in an accident. Frog barriers such as barrels of water or sand are very effective for cars that hit the frog of an off ramp. The cars themselves are also built better to protect the cabin, sacrificing the engine compartment to absorb the energy of a crash. Crush areas on cars reduce the effect of impact.

As anyone that watches the numerous dash cam videos of stupid drivers, there are plenty of them out there, and they do cause some spectacular accidents from time to time, but people often walk away from those accidents now.

To your points, my "rites" are indeed more important than the lives of your family and friends, so screw THEM. Both you and they have rights too. You have the right to run away screaming when you see me walking down the street(if you can discern my vax status, that is). You also have the right to buy a bunch of HAZMAT suits, shrink wrap yourselves, and dead bolt yourselves in your house and don't come out until the damn virus is gone. I don't give a shit as long as you all just shut the fuck up. And I don't give a rat's ass how effective a "flew" shot is or isn't, I get one every year because the "flew" damn near killed me in 1995 and I can count on one hand the number of days lost to illness in the ensuing 27 years (up to this year actually, when I lost a whopping 5 days of work).

a dumb fuck right winger applauding another dumbfuck right winger. how precious!! hate to burst your snot bubble, bitch, BUT THIS PANDEMIC IS NOT ALL ABOUT YOU. i don't give a fuck how many days of work you have missed, stupid, it has nothing to do with our society doing all it can to get this virus under control AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. try to think outside your concrete box like head, bitch.

actually, helmets might increase insurance costs for motorcycle riders. it might save his life, but he will probably have huge medical costs...and helmets hitting against a curb might save your life, but it will probably break your neck and cause severe brain damage that would be way more expensive to deal with if the guy wore no helmet, crashed and died.

False authority fallacy. Scholastic is not a valid authority of the Constitution.
The ONLY valid authority of the Constitution of the United States is the Constitution itself.

The Supreme Court has NO authority over the Constitution. They cannot interpret it. They cannot change it. See Article III.

read Maybury v Madison. Whether you like it or not, they have exactly that power.l

you are a nitpicking bozo.
No, you just deny and discard the Constitution.
the supreme court decides whether a law is constitutional or not, therefore, it has the right to decide if the government has the right to mandate vaccines, even for stupid shit trump bitches. period.
The Supreme Court does not have authority to change the Constitution.
HERE IS WHAT YOU SAID, NITPICKER. have someone read it to you since you apparently already forgot the bullshit you posted earlier-
Didn't forget. No vaccine can be mandated. It's unconstitutional.
and i kicked your ass and showed where it was constitutional,
No, you didn't. You really should read Article III when you quoted it.
because the supreme court DECIDED IT WAS, STUPID FUCK.
The Supreme Court has no authority to change the Constitution. They cannot just usurp power.

Helmets are no guarantee, I agree.
Remember, there are costs associated with crashes resulting in death...not the least of which are lawsuits.

true. my point is, if your actions only put you at greater risk, the less the government should be involved. smoking, drinking, overeating, helmets, etc. but if EVERYONE WAS VACCINATED, EXCEPT THOSE WHO CAN SHOW THEY SHOULD NOT BE, covid would be more like the flu, a dangerous, but manageable fact of life.

you're talking about Judicial activism.

wrong. vaccine doesn't prevent transmission.

Unconstitutional. Paradox V. Covid19 does not kill.

Considering this group is nothing but a group who thinks their rights are more important then the lives of our family's and our friends. It is time for us to let them have their way, for obvious reasons there is no better thing that we can do for the future of our democracy in this country/

Omicron variant confirmed for first time in Minnesota

Person was fully vaccinated with a booster and had mild symptoms

A Minnesotan who recently travelled to New York City is the first case of the omicron coronavirus variant detected in the state.

The person who tested positive for the new variant is an adult man from Hennepin County. The man was fully vaccinated, receiving two doses of coronavirus vaccine more than six months ago, and a booster in early November.

“This news is concerning, but it is not a surprise,” Gov. Tim Walz said in a statement. “We know that this virus is highly infectious and moves quickly throughout the world. Minnesotans know what to do to keep each other safe now — get the vaccine, get tested, wear a mask indoors, and get a booster.”

Jan Malcolm, state health commissioner, said the presence of the variant was quickly identified by the state’s nation-leading variant surveillance program. On Wednesday, Malcolm said the arrival of the new strain in Minnesota was inevitable and quick detection was important.

The person tested positive Nov. 24 after experiencing mild symptoms two days before. That means the man was infected with omicron prior to health officials in South Africa announced the new variant of concern was found there.

Our Constitional rights (yours included) ARE more important than individuals lives. It's sad and pathetic how you libtards take your (and everyone else's) freedom for granted. You'd trade precious liberty for temporary safety. There's a quote about that.

We would never DENY you the freedom- TO GO STRAIGHT TO HELL!

The only reason why we encourage you to get the vaccine is to help prevent you from trying to take others with you on your way out!

Not surprising at all , when you get the second shot it starts out at around 94% effective, in the 6 month period after the second shot that they are referring to, the protection goes down to I believe around 70% or less. If he got the booster a short time before he got the disease then it isn't effective as it will be in 7-10 days. This new strain may have completely different effective percentages for the existing Vaccine. If they don't get this under control by forcing all the idiots to get the shot , the mutations will go on for ever and the effectiveness of the vaccine will go down with every new configuration. Give you some reference about effectiveness , a normal flue shot starts out at around 35% effective.

laws are made to protect the public from general harm but mostly from harm from others. That's what a law is. It is time for a law to protect the public from the ass holes who think their rite's (Goofball Idea to start with ) then the lives of my family and friends . These no vaccine people are scum, 95% being right wing scum. This is all political given to the mentally incompetents in the world with their hatred of science ,reason and the left. These people were found by Trump under rocks where society had put them to keep them away from our children , this was a group of low level humans that were blackballed by society and in general terms a laughing stock of the nation , but boy did their hate get bolstered by the hate speech of Trump. They always have been there in the gutter and it took a piece of shit like trump to pull them out with the idea that their sickness and hate could be used to drive this country. Put them back under the rocks where they deserve to be and where they belong.
