Not to be Captain Obvious here, but the point of terrorism is to terrorize people into submission. Notice the buzz words being tossed about by Stone, B&T and the like. Do not submit to terrorism. Be cautious, but not afraid. Let the authorities do their job.

Biden is confident in the FBI bodyguard system's, now operating in conjunction with Homeland Security forces, and their capabilities because he has flown all over the world with them including Russia, China, Eastern Europe, and Middle Eastern Countries. And of course there is still the Congress Police Department and the D.C. Local Police. ANd then there is talk about having the National Guard there on the mall as well.
But here is the thing, WE CERTAINLY DO NOT WANT THIS TO LOOK LIKE SOME MILITARY OR POLICE EVENT. I don't think that's the optic we are quite looking for in an inauguration of a Democrat Administration. That would be like something Trump would desire for his inauguration.
DO WE NEED A SHOW OF STRENGTH? YES! To a degree, of course. But the whole world will be watching, and we don't want to appear as if we are some military state like Russia, China, or North Korea.
The goal is to get Biden and Harris under oath and into operation. Getting that accomplished under the threat of an attack will be like threading them both through a needle. The steps of the Capitol Building are in range of sniper rifle in 180 degrees. You have the possibility of RC operated drones or Hand launched missiles coming in. Let's face it, if someone is serious about causing terror, chaos, destruction, assassination, or bodily harm, the opportunities present themselves.
And there have already been some very serious threats and tips coming into the FBI, from the Extreme Right Wing White Supremacist Terrorist organizations about making their presence known at the upcoming inaugural events. You don't really have any choice but to take them at their word.
So, I think it should be held in the capitol building and have 20 TV stations there to film it, and the public stay home and watch it on TV, as people will also be watching around the world in celebration anyway. That is probably the only way to guarantee the public's safety, and also protect the new leaders and their families as well.
I'd rather be safe than sorry. And we still win, while if anyone should come with terror or bad motives in mind, THEY LOSE!
