I admit it was rude, but no moreso than the condescending attitude expressed at a few jokes.

Like I said, lighten up. Its an internet politics forum. Its not that serious.

Not really. You seize upon an anything in the story, then work from that because you are deeply moved by what happened.

In this case, they seized on the one thing there are zillions of quick to mind jokes about.

I remember walking up to what I thought was human paste, thinking I was walking up to what I thought was a gruesome death and saying, "I'm not giving this one CPR! You do it!" to my buddy who quipped right back, "Hell no, you get to trache him if we can find a neck!"

Both of the jokes were not funny and really at what any other group of people would have thought a terribly inappropriate time.

As it turned out CPR was unnecessary, as was a trache, as I stood there about ready to try to find a pulse I saw bubbles in the blood near his mouth... he not only was alive but he was still breathing on his own.

We made more and worse jokes as we scraped him up and put him in an ambulance, we really thought he wouldn't survive and didn't want to hold up a helicopter for him...

He not only survived, but after many months of therapy is a walking talking human...

And he's quit drinking.

I remember it because it effected me so much, and the jokes we told (most were far worse than the one I spoke about here) were almost as effecting...

Please don't think that I'm here clenching my fist in rage because of anything anybody says on the Internet. I accept with your rationale though I disagree with some of what you're saying.

At this point we're both shitting up this thread, so let's agree to be e-friends or something.

If anybody has another source or more information on this plz post it.
 
Sometimes its gallows humor to avoid thinking about the subject. And sometimes its just someone cracking a joke because they can.

I'll go even one better. I am betting that at least 3 or 4 people laughed at the collection of jokes we made here.

And having made 3 or 4 people laugh is accomplishing much, much more than the posturing, lamenting, blaming, and indignation that a serious discussion would bring on. And the serious discussion (hard though it may be to believe) is not going to accomplish a damn thing.

I can agree to disagree. But I don't think we are shitting up this thread. I think any time you can get in a laugh is a good time for it. I think we take life too seriously. And I am damn sure we take our own opinions and the effects of our discussions way to seriously.

We may as well laugh. Its more effective than anything else we do here.

And you don't think the politics in this country is a bigger joke than any uttered here?

It is political here. But its not all serious politics. And what is actually serious quickly slides down into swapping insults.

It's supposed to be but often it's a forum for throwing around insults like a monkey does poo, which to be honest, is half the fun of political discussion.
