Arizona murderers leave prostitute outside in cage to die

This sure is a hilarious thread about a woman dying a horrible death in police custody.

i too do not find it a subject of humor

perhaps graveyard humor but still, talk about torture

tortured to death

the age, occupation or gender are irrelevant, it was a horrible way to die

Do you really trust anything from Faux News? Was she a 48 yr old prostitute? Or was she mentally ill?
Faux supports Sheriff Joe and the AZ jail system and kinda left out the part that this woman was mentally ill and mysteriously reported that she was a prostitute. Why? To soften the impact of how she died? Probably.

I hike desert trails in the Phoenix area at least 3 times a week and this time of year you need 1 qt of water per hr minimum. Less if you sit in the shade and don't move, but I guess she didn't have shade.

Sometimes people use humor because otherwise it simply would overwhelm them.

As a firefighter I've been part of some pretty sick jokes at what others may call "inappropriate" times, we use them mostly to make the unthinkable bearable so that we can do what we have to.

I see this as much the same type of thing. There is nothing that is defensible about what happened, people make jokes because they'd rather be inappropriate than think about the woman's ordeal.

I largely agree with this post, but there's a difference between gallows humor and "lol hookers"

I can be both utterly outraged and make jokes about it at the same time, though. Really, when I heard about this it made me want to kill people.

Moderation on a politics board should be about as light as possible, so that's good to hear.

I'm not saying that one liners, jokes, sarcasm, and snarky comments shouldn't be posted on a politics board, but look. This thread about a woman's death at the hands of law enforcement, which should have engendered discussion about maybe corrupt cops or our prison industrial complex, is now literally a collection of prostitute jokes.

Oh ok, I see where we went astray. Next time I'll check and see if the topic should start a heartfelt discussion or if we can make light of a tragedy.

Look around this board. What you will find is the same responses to almost every topic submitted.

WaterMark will call for the execution of all conservative.
Meme will blame Obama.
Uscitizen will counter by pointing out where Bush did the same thing.
BLackasCoal will say both screwed us and that the police hate blacks.
SouthernMan will blame liberals and label any response a straw man argument
Dixie will call people pinheads
Cypress & LadyT will insult Dixie and use 2 year old posts to do so.
Mott will correct someone.
Smarterthanyou will claim the feds are ignoring the constutution.

and so on and so on and so on......

So if we make jokes instead of creating a serious discussion about the problems in Arizona jails, I hope you will forgive us. And if you want a serious discussion it is usually better to start one than to whine about there not being one.

And welcome to the board. :cof1:

I'd like to know more about this story. This is not something that should be swept under the carpet because this lady may have been viewed as an undesirable. She was still a human being and her life had value. Justice needs to be served here and those responsible brought to account for their actions.

I concur

They both weren't held accountable for their actions and the cages have now been put back in use.
