I see the most likely scenario for a war with Venezuela coming over that nation trying to illegally, and in violation of INTERNATIONAL SANCTIONS ship oil out of the country to N. Korea, Iran, China, or some other corrupt country that flaunts international law on this while escorting that ship with a Venezuelan Navy warship or two.
If, in that scenario, the US tried to stop the tanker and enforce international sanctions / law, and the Venezuelan Navy ship(s) started to fight back, that could lead to a war as the Venezuelan ships get sunk in short order.

Hello, McFly, Venezuela already elected a president. María Corina Machado's proxy, Edmundo González, crushed Maduro in a landslide the regime couldn't even fake convincingly. The rightful winner is backed by democratic forces who'd take power in a heartbeat, and guess what? She's a solid ally of the United States.
