first off...this is NOT vigilantism. that is a fucking lie. secondly, what is wrong with protecting your neighborhood? i don't hear the left whining about the guardian angels in new york city. the left only hates this because these people are white.

Sliwa originally created the organization to combat widespread violence and crime on the New York City Subways. The organization originally trained members to make citizen’s arrests for violent crimes. The organization patrols the streets and neighborhoods but also provides education programs and workshops for schools and businesses.

why should anyone complain about them?...left or right

when there is not enough room in prisons due to our drug laws, then either the citizens should pay for larger prisons or repeal the drug laws

law enforcement in most areas do not have the resources to combat crimes against property...only against druggies and violent offenders...and sometimes not even them, except where busting druggies allows them to confiscate money and property and add such to their pensions and budget

the difference between the people in oregon and the guardian angels is that the guardian angels are not armed while the people in oregon are

There was a study done, it found that if law enforcement agencies dedicated as much manpower to burglaries as they do to violent crimes, they'd go from something like a 20% closure rate to a 67% rate. Numbers off the top of my head, but the problem is that would mean quite a bit more funding, which they dont get, and manpower, which they dont have. What it comes down to is if you're burglarized, you can call the cops but you're not going to get anything back and highly unlikely to ever see the criminal brought to justice.

if they have not received the equivalent of police training in the use of firearms and when to use deadly force with regular updates, then they should not be carrying firearms

they would also need to know the laws regarding civilian use of deadly force
