Are Vegetarian/Vegan Restaurants Scams?

I live close to a very artsy/environmental district where its all about rich preppies drinking their $5 dollar free trade coffee and buying overpriced unproductive goods.

One of the worst is their restaurants, its buffet style all vegetarian/vegan foods and you get charged by weight. So the typical meal is around 20 bucks for a platter of veggies. And there are no waiters so you have to put your plates and forks away yourself, you have to get the water yourself and the restaurants all expect you to give a tip.

I love these scams....Lets pretend to do something good for the planet and help our image by charging people overpriced food with no service...

What a brilliant marketing ploy, I'm going to do that once I go into my own business...

That's "fair trade" coffee, free trade is what those people are against.
You know CK, you're sounding more like a Conservative everyday.

And I agree with you, a lot of these green artsy stuff is sold to trendy enviro-lefty people with a lot of naivity in what they are buying.
