Some of us got your point, BAC.

I would say yes - that "attractive" varies from culture to culture, on such things as body shape/size, hairiness/non-hairy, shape of eyes, skin color, length of neck, etc etc etc.

While our media culture seems far too obsessed with a very thin, fairly pale female shape, I hope people in "real" life can appreciate a variety of looks, and also appreciate people for more than just looks.

Although that pic of Wolverine Darla posted awhile ago was smokin' hot, I have to say...

Your post is my point exactly.

The reason I brought this up is because I have a white friend who is married to a black woman, and he and I were debating if there is any need anymore for black beauty pagents. He doesn't think there is because .. bless his good heart, he just doesn't see any difference in people.

I told him that I which the world was him, but it isn't, and there still exists cultural perspectives of beauty .. and worth.

Just wondering what others thought.

I totally agree .. I'm older than he was .. and I've been dead already.

The truth is that no matter what we do, death is coming. In my case, it's coming back.

Such is the wonder and beauty of life.

historically the moderately overweight (not obese) were considered wealthy and healthier (able to withstand disease better). even today this is true but only to the extent of 5 to 10 pounds (depending on height).

my question, however, are we talking cultures within the u s or worldwide? also, there is personal preference (neither cultural nor racial).
