I'm not suggesting that overweight is good or even more attractive.
My question is if overweight women are more accepted in different cultures.

I would say yes - that "attractive" varies from culture to culture, on such things as body shape/size, hairiness/non-hairy, shape of eyes, skin color, length of neck, etc etc etc.
While our media culture seems far too obsessed with a very thin, fairly pale female shape, I hope people in "real" life can appreciate a variety of looks, and also appreciate people for more than just looks.
