Are liberals still spitting on our veterans?

These people only deserve to be footnotes in history, not honored...

It would be a refreshing change to see some of you honor more peacemakers and fewer warmongers, but my cynicism says that's not likely.

Known as the Doolittle Raiders, the 80 men who risked their lives on a World War II bombing mission on Japan after the attack on Pearl Harbor were toasted one last time by their surviving comrades and honored with a Veterans Day weekend of fanfare shared by thousands.

Three of the four surviving Raiders attended the toast Saturday at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. Their late commander, Lt. Gen. James "Jimmy" Doolittle, started the tradition but they decided this autumn's ceremony would be their last.

"May they rest in peace," Lt. Col. Richard Cole, 98, said before he and fellow Raiders -- Lt. Col. Edward Saylor, 93, and Staff Sgt. David Thatcher, 92 -- sipped cognac from specially engraved silver goblets. The 1896 cognac was saved for the occasion after being passed down from Doolittle.

Hundreds invited to the ceremony, including family members of deceased Raiders, watched as the three each called out "here" as a historian read the names of all 80 of the original airmen.

The fourth surviving Raider, Lt. Col. Robert Hite, 93, couldn't travel to Ohio because of health problems.

The answer is no; they've switched to spitting on Tea Party members.

Yes, Liberals really are that repugnant and THAT stupid.

Truth deflected once again. We honor veterans. Many of us liberals ARE veterans, many, like myself, having served careers in uniform. And...We don't SPIT at tea party members... we just laugh at them, and stand on the sidelines chuckling as they decimate the republican party on our behalf.

Big Phoney... I will explain this to you once, so hopefully, you'll understand it. "On Ignore" is a technical term. I don't put you "on ignore" because you start so many threads that people I DON'T ignore post in, if I were unable to occasionally read your posts, like when people don't quote you, I would lose the line of the conversation. I do, however, "ignore" you in a very real and practical sense. I don't respond to your condescending, snarky, juvenile, baiting posts to me because life is too short and I have chosen to not waste time engaging you in drawn-out silliness. This will be a one time exception so that you are clear on my position once and for all. I seriously don't think you have much to offer intellectually, and I find you to be chronically and gratuitously insulting which is one of my larger pet peeves on message boards in general. Getting into anything with you is akin to Br'er Rabbit punching the tar baby. I chose not to engage in that. Basically, I think you are a insignificant insulting little prick and I gladfully choose not to carry on extended conversations with you. I hope this clears up any misconceptions you might have had.

From last week....

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel warned Tuesday that troops and their families will be asked to sacrifice on pay and benefits to preserve readiness in an era of tighter budgets.

Hagel listed politically-charged changes to compensation and personnel policy as one of his top six priorities in reforming the military following the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan as the department gears up to meet new challenges.

"This may be the most difficult" to achieve among his six priorities, Hagel said of proposals to trim pay increases, overhaul TRICARE and review retirement benefits while adapting to cuts in personnel.

"Without serious attempts to achieve significant savings in this area, which consumes roughly half of the DoD budget and is increasing every year, we risk becoming an unbalanced force," Hagel said.

The alternative was to have a military that is "well-compensated, but poorly trained and equipped, with limited readiness and capability," Hagel said in a keynote address to a Global Security Forum 2013 sponsored by the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

Hagel acknowledged the need to get approval for changes to compensation and personnel policy from members of Congress, who would be reluctant to justify military pay cuts to voters back home.

I would say yes.....

Under the Obama regime, Navy types (like Admiral Mexicanman) have supposedly found ways to pad their pay...

Two U.S. Navy admirals have reportedly become ensnared in a far-reaching bribery scandal involving the alleged sale of classified information...

The news comes on the heels of the reports that at least two Navy commanders allegedly leaked inside information...

These guys gave America a huge, huge, morale boost during world war 2. the Japanese were running roughshod all over the Pacific and had trapped 36 thousand Americans on Bataan peninsula forcing their surrender and then forcing them on the infamous Bataan death march. America was losing the war and desperately needed some sort of counter offensive and the Doolittle Raid provided it.

The Little Kitten AKA Christie fan meanwhile should be taken with a grain of salt. If it weren't for guys like these, her and her socialist tooter horn would be nothing but a little turd floating around in a puddle of water someplace.

Lol, you're such a stooge. My comments were in regards to the Civil War, as Big $ well knows. But you took the bait like the good little flunky you are.

LOL, Christie only condemns Civil War presidents...of which we had exactly one.

N.B. Forrest must be evil, for some reason...maybe because he was a Democrat who went on to found the KKK?

She also condemns Truman as a war criminal, and opposes Obama the Drone King.

I condemned a Civil War president for presiding over a civil war instead of trying to end the uprising peacefully. But if you want me to condemn our most recent "war president" I'll be happy to give you an earful.

Don't forget, I also consider bush and cheney as war criminals, too. I'm an equal-opportunity condemner.

Truth deflected once again. We honor veterans.

Wrong again dimwit; Democrats crap on veterans through their actions and partisan political rhetoric then tell gullible dimwits like you they care to get you to vote for them.

Many of us liberals ARE veterans, many, like myself, having served careers in uniform.

The numbers of veterans that are Liberals are in an extreme rabid minority of shrill whiners who typically were Navy or Air force but seldom come from the ranks of the Army and Marines.

Trust me, a vast majority of military vets are not nearly as ignorant as you are.

And...We don't SPIT at tea party members... we just laugh at them, and stand on the sidelines chuckling as they decimate the republican party on our behalf.

I am amused by the arrogance it takes to presume you speak for others. You speak for a teeny tiny rabid minority of uninformed repugnant asshats who are clueless miscreants spending way too much time on internet blog sites.

Even the dumbest Tea Party supporter has more intelligence in their toenail than the moronic nonsense that erupts from your keyboard.

How do you think Lincoln could have ended the Civil War peacefully? I am not expecting anything intelligent; but I think the entertainment value of your response is worth the effort.

No, to be fair, I think you do honor all veterans. Your position is that many of them shouldn't have been veterans in the first place and in that sense I agree with you.

If Nathan Bedford Forrest would have been made a lieutenant general and given full command of western confederate forces, a better defensive plan would have been implemented before Atlanta and Lee's surrender at Appomattox wouldn't have ended the war because it was Forrest who wanted to blockade the Mississippi and Tennessee rivers and cut off Yankee supply routes thereby forcing the Yankees to submit to the confederacy's independence.
