Are fireworks too dangerous to use?

You seem to think that Damo and I must agree on everything if we dance to the same tune.

Did I say that?

BTW, can you answer a factual question truthfully?

Recently, someone said that an event had "been happening annually for centuries", when in fact the event in question commenced in 1993.

Does that introduce a jarring note into the tune called facts and truth, in your opinion?

The difference is that in the case of starting fires, the proper use of the items could result in millions of dollars in damages and possible injury or death for people who were not involved.

In the case of personal injuries, most of the time it is someone doing something stupid, and not following the manufacturer's instructions on proper use.

Yes, the OP mentioned wildfires, but more as an afterthought than as the point of the post.
Proper use, and dont't go beyond,
One is not supposed to even hold a hammerhead or M-80 in your hans, or have kids run with sparklers. Bottle rockets or more? use your common sense.

Damo is dispensing grammatical advice. Should I ask him to help you?

So you linked to a thread that apparently doesn't contain the proof you claimed it does, and that - in your mind - constitutes proof?

It contains it several times even in one post. So you cannot provide any evidence to the contrary?

Since I don't know the context I would not try and answer your question. But it is obvious there were some issues in the way, whomever it was, stated their point.

Very diplomatic, and the use of "context"...awesome.

This ignores the context. Is there reason to believe that there is a fire danger?

there is here several counties in KY have banned private use of fireworks.
My yard is brown and crunchy and would burn in a heartbeat.
So imagine what the woods are like.

I am over 6" below avg rainfall and most of Western Kentucky is around 12" under avg rain.
a few weeks of 100 plus degree days and .1 inch of rainfall for 2.5 months will kinda dry things out here.
The weeds are even dying.

So, according to Tinfoil you are a hand wringer if you support a fireworks ban.

Blabo says you're a pinhead who should mind your own business.

My business is making sure that someone does not burn up my land or home.

I think it may be OK to ban fireworks, as long as it's a Republican doing the banning.

On the other hand, if federal wildlife officials do it to keep birds from being traumatized, it's just plain stupid.

Apparently.

They are too dangerous for pussies! I am 46 years old. For me fourth of July has been my Christmas. I get to shoot bottle rockets, light firecrackers, and shoot off the shells that create so many cool patterns and illicit ooos and ahhhs from young and old alike. In all that time, I have never been injured by a firework. I have never been with anyone injured by a firework. Life is fraught with dangers. If you can't handle it, stay inside, lock your doors, draw your shades and talk to your fucking cats. But leave the rest of us, that choose to live our life to the fullest alone.

THIS!! Well said, Soc!

Absolute bullshit and you know it. Please show me anyone who has said it has anything to do with the party affiliations.

Why don't you talk about this in that thread?
