The key wording there is " AS WE KNOW IT NOW" I do think that version of the D party is going away. Oh,...there will still be a D party,....but it will have to move back much further to the center to be considered serious in the foreseeable future. They know that themselves. The party leaders that aren't totally infected with the crazy gene will have to drag the others back center, Kicking and screaming if need be.

That's unlikely. The Left clings to power like a heroin addict clings to their dime bag for their next fix. For the Democrats, they let the Left gain control of their party, and it will take something more than Trump to wrest control from them for a return to the center.
