We have separation of church and state. But maybe we are giving too much power to religion. Fascism is very compatible with religion.

well a few are...
The Church of Global Warming
The Temple of Secular Humanism
The Mosque of Marxism

Global Warming is a scientific explanation of our planets climate.

I have no idea what you mean by "Secular Humanism."

Your comment on Marxism in not accurate, Senator McCarthy.

Native Americans seem to me to have grasped the fact that the world was in a perfect state and that they were its stewards. This contrasts with Western religions which place their ' heaven ' somewhere else.

' Happy Hunting Grounds ' was a White Man term with no basis in Indian tribal beliefs, according to American anthropological studies.

So most ' religions ' that teach the inferiority of ' earth ' as opposed to ' heaven ' are bad for us, and that's world-wide, not just in America. If ' heaven ' had a climate we'd fuck that up too.

The concept of an anthropomorphic, omnipowerful, personal god who arbitrarily answers prayers and requires worshiping has never clicked with me.

There may be a god of the universe of some type. The Christian god and its various iterations makes no sense.

We may have freedom OF religion, but we don't have freedom FROM religion.
People push their religious values into the laws of what's supposed to be a secular government.
I have no great praise for the founders based on the piss-poor constitution that they wrote, but at the very least,
they did not try to form a theocracy.

The sub-atomic particles had to come from somewhere, and we're not remotely close to understand where.
Even the big -bang theory seems pretty fanciful--somebody trying to explain something coming from nothing and not doing a very convincing job.

But there's one thing that is pretty evident, at least to me. No non-random creation has taken place since then.

Hannah Arendt said monotheism is a form of political totalitarianism.
