Finally! That was like pulling teeth from a cat! I just wanted to get you firmly on record with your prediction, because I know how you parse your words... If the Republicans take the Senate, I didn't want you running around saying; I never said I thought Democrats would win the Senate! Now you're firmly on record with your prediction, and that's all I wanted.
Now, on to MY prediction... I said a while back, I didn't think republicans would take the Senate, and may not take the House. I still stand by that prediction. I will be pleasantly surprised if they gain a majority in either one.
That said, regardless of the gains Republicans will obviously make in both, it will completely change the dynamics of Congress. The dangers of a far left-wing agenda are essentially over. Democrats who managed to hang on by the skin of their teeth in this election, had to become "moderate" and distance themselves from Obama, they can't very well return to liberal business as usual now. Likewise, wishy-washy moderate Republicans have been replaced by a much more conservative brand of republican, and the entire 'tone' will change in Congress as a result. Obama will be forced to govern as a centrist, or face the prospects of being a lame duck for the next two years. I think this is a HUGE victory for the right.
