Anybody else notice the DOW is now down YTD?

Of course. You can't stay in business if you don't pass along at least some inflationary price rises to your customers. Gasoline prices aren't included when the rate of inflation is calculated. But as you said, it affects everything downstream.
Correct. Gasoline prices are not included. Inflation is caused by printing money faster than wealth being created through capitalism.
In other words, it's a natural part of fiat currency. In the United States, this was initiated by DEMOCRATS.

In 2025, Trump caused an anemic labor market and the worst job growth record since the Great Republican Recession of 2008.
Obama was President in 2008, Cyborg.
That economic depression lasted nine years, largely thanks to Obama and his shifting policies.

Trump ended that economic depression approx 1 yr into his 1st term...mostly by nullifying such stupid policies and getting government out of the way.

Fewer government workers is a GOOD thing, Cyborg.

The very epitome of a Tory, a good 1930s German frau, a subservient bootlicker.
Buying gas is being a bootlicker??
"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety". -- Franklin
Buying gas isn't being given up, moron. Buying coffee isn't being given up either. Neither is an essential liberty.
Say, Toxic, whatever happened to last year's chant of "everything is fine. You can get coffee on sale or use coupons"? Oops. lol
Everything is fine. You can buy gasoline. You can buy coffee.

Personally, you think should probably give up that coffee habit. The stuff really isn't any good for you.

I don't want to clip coupons or search frantically for sales. That's not the world Trump promised us.
I don't do either. Coupons typically aren't used to purchase gasoline. I don't get frantic about gasoline either. I just go to the cheapest place around here for most of it. That's called 'competition', Cyborg...something that you are woefully unfamiliar with.

In the last year, we saw multiple market downturns caused by Trump, mostly reacting to tariffs.
The Dow Jones is up over 7000 since Trump took office, moron.
Then he'd TACO and rescind them, and the markets would stabilize.
Food is not sentient, Owl. Tariffs have not been rescinded. They are still in place.
Unfortunately this time he's painted himself into a corner that is going to be hard to be extricated from, since it also involves Israel. He can only go all in and watch the economy burn to the ground, or withdraw and leave Israel dangling. Either way, the MAGATs will be pissed.
The economy is not 'burning to the ground', Owl. Democrats ARE pissed about that. Democrats WANT the economy to burn to the ground.
I wonder how many fundie sermons were preached yesterday lauding the End Times and the possibility of their long-hoped-for Armageddon?
Tel Megiddo is not in the United States, Owl.
What do you consider 'The End Times'??

The Dow Jones is up over 7000 since Trump took office. Do you consider this the 'End Times'?
Maybe you consider the laying off of federal workers the 'End Times'. That's a good thing, Owl.

Nope, no one does. It's strange how those weren't options when Biden was POTUS, isn't it? We heard four years of tooth-gnashing, screeching, whining, and blame from that same idiot. Suddenly, on Nov. 6, 2024, everything was fine, prices dropped precipitously, and there was no need for coupons or sales anymore, according to that stupid #TrumpWhore.
Biden was never President, Owl.
