They both have safeties. They are automatic ones. The Glock, for example, uses trigger side safeties, is a striker action, and has a blocking pin in the striker channel. This is why you can chamber a round and drop that gun onto concrete from 20 ft and it will not go off.
I assume what you mean is that neither gun has a manual safety lever or button.
