And let's not forget the President of the United States using his bully pulpit to diminish and try to hurt profitable American businesses that employ many people, like the NBA and Goodyear, strictly for political gain.

Completely unprecedented that a President would try to actively hurt the economy like that.

That's pretty much the answer right there. When you get Leftist idiocy injected into sports in an 'in your face' sort of way most people, the vast majority, will walk away and not watch. They don't want that crap in their face 24/7 and in stuff where it has no business being.
