At the risk of actually injecting discussion points into this thread, how do these protect a woman? A man should only be able to rape a woman by force, usually a weapon of some kind. Once he cant get the goods...what is stopping him from taking out his frustration on the woman?

That's really the problem with all these designs. Anti-rape condom - great, now you've got an angry, violent man in front of you, and he's already raped you. Electric shock panties - great, now you've given an electric shock to an angry, violent man, what's your follow up? Chastity belt panties - great, now you've got an angry, violent, entitled man who's been denied something he was trying to take. The situation is not going to be pretty for the woman in these three scenarios.
The chastity belt design, I suppose, is useful in that it would prevent date rape. It would also prevent sex, though, unless you keep the key on you.
The vast majority of rapes do not involve the random woman on the side walk jumped by a complete stranger scenario popular in movies. Please do not define the only instances in which rape "should" be able to happen.

I did add that comment, carefully worded, to see where it would lead.
Because IMO, no adult woman should become a victim without trying to defend herself....and if she's taking some responsibility by buying this underwear, then hopefully she has other plans for fighting back.
There is NO excuse for a man raping a woman but any woman that believes some pair of underwear is going to save her, well if she only relies on that, I doubt it will end there.
It infuriates me to no end that 2 women were raped in their homes here, one of them killed, the other knifed but survived. The assailant only had a knife. If they had had some PLAN in place, odds are good they could have resisted and gotten away. There are tactics for that kind of thing. And many do not use guns.
How many parents teach their teens about this stuff? Not many, it's not a fun subject, and yet parents have learned over the yrs to teach their younger ones about 'stranger danger' and telling them about the places where people are not allowed to 'touch' them.
