Another VP thread

True. None of which include GOP talking points. Why do you think Obama offered Clinton the most prestigious cabinet position in 2008? That's right, to help him grow his base of support with women who, despite what the GOP may kid themselves into believing, Clinton is very popular with.

Look, Bernie is going to go into the Democratic convention with a lot...and I mean a lot of delegates, just like Clinton did in 2008. Bernie's biggest following is the youth vote and they have shown to be as strong of supporters as Trump supporters. If Bernie isn't her Veep pick...and I agree he probably won't be...you can probably be sure that Bernie will be offered a prestigious cabinet level position if he plays ball in helping HC get elected.

Sanders could certainty help her excite the youth vote, and she is going to need it.

I would be very surprised if Trump could get Gates to do that. You truly think that would give Trump the landslide? I am not really sure people like Gates too much and there would be 0 foreign policy on that ticket.
True which is why I have no intentions of voting for Trump. The single most important part of a POTUS job is foreign affairs which is why Trump and Cruz scare the hell out of me. Those two would probably get us into some unnecessary war.

BO is the only thing holding off indictments.
She's been losing the woman demographic as the mushy middle girls do not like her.
More delusional GOP talking points. There's not a snow balls chance in hell that Clinton gets indicted over some politically inspired personal attack. This is just a pathetic grasping at straws attempt to delude yourself.

Agreed. The thing is what does she have to offer Bernie that he would be interested in? SoS? Treasury? Certainly not SoD or Atty General. The only cabinet positions that seem to be a good fit for Bernie would be Labor. Though it'd be hilarious if Clinton nominates him for Commerce. Be a lot of heads exploding if she did that.

Its fun that their heads would explode, and I think after the election she just might do it... but I don't think she wants so much "left wing" on her ticket.

BO picked her a) to help calm a rather wicked primary battle b) to keep your enemies closer and it worked. So we'll that he came to own her. That gave him leverage over her and Bubba which was major gravy.
Bernie has no need of administration experience and he's not too fond of her. Yes it would benefit her but offers him nothing.
It's older women of the mushy middle variety that do not like her but I don't think she can count on the young ones either. I'm looking for some interesting things out of the Trump camp regarding women.

Maybe he can find a woman who will run with him. Although... I am not sure about the optics of a woman being his Vice.

Nah not necessarily cabinet. My liberal (and older) cuz loves Ivanka Trump. I think it's just the celebrity angle but if there is a way to work a celebrity angle to his advantage, Trump is just the guy to do it. Have to bear in mind that this is not a typical election and the rules need not apply.

It will be very interesting, his marriage to a foreign underwear model who admits she was looking to marry a rich American fits into the misogynistic stereotype the Democrats will paint him as.

You miss my point, this is only a bad thing to people who pull the D lever no matter what.

We're getting closer to when that decision will be made.

I'm thinking that Clinton may actually choose Bernie as her VP. If she wants to capture the youth vote as part of her coalition having Bernie's supporters behind would help a lot. To get Bernie to back her in such a manner she's either going to have to offer him the VP slot or a cabinet position as Obama did with her after she lost a close race to him. VP looks to be the logical slot as I don't see Bernie as a good fit for one of the top four cabinet positions. Bernie would probably fit in the role of Sec of Labor or Sec of Commerce or Sec of Education. Any three of which would make the GOP shit itself but Bernie might be more ambitious than that.

Failing that I'll go with my standby that Clinton picks the Mayor of San Antonio, TX.

On the other side I have no idea who Trump would choose. I think if Chris Christie plays a significant role in Trumps election he'll get a major cabinet position. Probably SoS. I doubt he's interested in VP.

trump maybe would choose kasich... maybe.

you need someone normalish to balance our trumps grandiose nature.

not just the youth but also women under 45.

My gut keeps telling me its going to be Castro for HRC, I just think she wants to avoid the "Socialist" label they will hang on Sanders if he is on the ticket, and I think he will support her anyway. On the other hand, she already will have the Hispanic vote sewed up, and there is little chance he will deliver Texas.

Trump is a wild card but it sure looks like Christie is interviewing... I wonder if a lot of more establishment Republicans would say no, in the event he loses they don't want to be branded for life for having joined Trumps failed mutiny.

Yes, avoid the socialist label by claiming the communist label. Dems have come a long way since Kennedy. :cof1:

Party first guys may not want it. NOT sure any military guys with profile exist. BO saw to that.
A FP sort would be good. Bolton would rock it but too polarizing. Out of the box is most likely.
If I were Trump, I would be asking for a list of all those generals obama got rid of.
