Another Traitor Monument Comes Down

lying piece of shit ^^

Which party voted for the Civil Rights Act of 1964?

When the Voting Rights Act hit the floor in 1965, the vote results mirrored those of the Civil Rights Act. In the House, the measure passed by a 333-85 margin, with 78 percent of Democrats backing it (221 yeas and 61 nays) and 82 percent of Republicans backing it (112 yeas to 24 nays).

You're correct I cited the wrong act. But that still doesn't negate the fact that the Republicans were the party to push it over the top. BTW

"March 30 – June 10, 1964: The longest filibuster in the history of the Senate was waged against the Civil Rights Act of 1964, with 57 days of debate over a 73-day period. It ended when the Senate voted 71–29 to invoke cloture, with the filibuster carried out by southern members of the Democratic Party, the first successful cloture motion on a civil rights bill."

how about 'Blue Dog Democrats'?.......never heard of them folks either?

"statues representing the Great Plague" have nothing in common with statues honoring Confederates fighting AGAINST the United States........any statues for Hitler, Mussolini, Gerbels, and the other Nazis or Italians or Japanese war criminals?
You'e comparing the common infantry soldier with Hitler lol?

If you knew your Southern history better than you'd understand that the vast majority of Confederate soldiers were victims. Here in Winston-Salem they just took down a statue of "Silent Sam". He represented the soldiers that fought for a cause that wasn't the same as the Democrat politicians and the several hundred wealthy and influential slave owners at the time. Now that he's gone that history has been erased.

It doesn't matter whether they were "victims" or not. A monument to someone who fought in a war on the side of evil (in this case, slavery) is honoring what they fought for.... in this case: slavery. You might as well claim that German soldiers in WWII were "victims" too. There at the end, many of them were barely old enough to shave. Yet they fought for the side of evil. They should not be honored with statues in public places. A cemetery is one thing; a university common area is another.

As far as I can tell, racism in the modern Democratic party must be so exceedingly rare, that teabaggers are forever reduced to jumping in their time machines and time traveling back to the remote past 160 years ago to complain about the southern Dixiecrats, or time traveling back 80 years ago to complain about something a young Robert Byrd did.

Exactly. They're trying to disguise the fact that their party is seen by non-(R)s rightfully as a party of old white wealthy men, with a history of opposing civil rights in modern times. You know, like the times we live in now.

Maybe someone should take his own advice about history. lol

I see you're doing your drugs early this morning

I see you're still not man enough to take down something you call traitorous. That means you either don't believe the bullshit you spread or you know you wouldn't stand a chance of being successful is you tried.
