Another reason not to buy Chinese...

Seems one of the big reasons so much Russian military equipment has been lost and abandoned in Ukraine is the Russians were buying and using Chinese made parts and tires in their military vehicles. These parts have proven so shoddy that the vehicles broke down or suffered flat tires within just a few hours of use.

That's what happens when you buy from the lowest bidder...

If that's true, then Russia is getting what it deserve.

I seem to remember that the tire issue was discussed early on. It was a matter of dry rot due to the equipment sitting idle for so many years. There are very few non Chinese tire makers left. We have a few here, but not like it used to be.

Even Goodyear makes some of its tires in China

That Chinese stuff is generally crap. Their machine tools and tooling are for shit. Can't hold a tolerance, wear out quickly, and are generally just junk. Their bearings in particular are total shit. You need to get the good stuff from the US or Germany, like SKF or FAG, when it comes to those.
"Made in China" isn't what it used to be in the 70's and 80's. Most cheap stuff was made in Japan until then, but when we first started using Chinese crap it was just that...crap.

Once American companies set out to destroy our labor force, they sent American parts to China for assembly. The problems I have with Chinese made tools is that these companies typically put plastic parts into tools that the original manufacturer didn't. Bosch is a prime example.

All of the rubber used in tires across the world comes from Asia anyway.
