From what I understand, the only reason she was in office was because of Republican gerrymandering years ago. They apparently created a district that meandered through Florida black communities to free up all the white votes for Republican candidates.

Worked until last year, I think, when the legislature reapportioned it.

It was done to appear the whining blacks that constantly claimed they couldn't get one of their own elected unless it was guaranteed by a majority minority district.
