Another DNC Saturday Night Debate No One Will Watch

The long, long wait is nearly over. Yes, we're talking about the next Democratic presidential debate which has been curiously scheduled for Saturday night.

What's curious about that? Well, it's the last Saturday before Christmas, so presumably most people who aren't complete social pariahs will be at parties instead of huddling around the TV. And millions of others will be packing theaters to see the new Star Wars movie (spoiler alert: under the mask, Kylo Ren turns out to be a vengeful Jar Jar Binks).

Still, that leaves some people who will be eager to see a tough, head-to-head competition. Which is why they'll be watching the football game between the New York Jets and the Dallas Cowboys which is scheduled opposite the debate.

Now take Republicans, conservatives, and the clinically sane out of the remaining viewing demographics and you end up with such a tiny number of potential viewers that it's almost like the Democratic party really doesn't want people to see and hear their candidates.

And as Yoda might say, "blame them, you cannot."

Hillary Clinton’s Democratic rivals are preparing to face off against her in a debate Saturday, but the campaigns of Bernie Sanders and Martin O’Malley are annoyed by the debate’s airtime — with one official even accusing the Democratic National Committee of trying to insulate Clinton from scrutiny.


The New York Times reported Friday that an O’Malley campaign spokeswoman said that by not scheduling these debates during primetime, the DNC has found a way to “protect” Clinton from harm.

O’Malley himself has made the same argument: “They’ve scheduled it during shopping season, December 19th. I don’t know why that is. I think it’s out of a false sense that they have to circle the wagons around the inevitable front-runner.”


The DNC, along with the New Hampshire Democratic Party, is hosting the third debate Saturday night at 8 p.m. at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire.

I remember when people used to think repubs were the boring party but trump has changed all that. The dem debates are a joke. Omalley is ignored by everyone and that just leaves two old geezers spouting the same liberal pablum we all have heard a million times.

At least the GOP has real candidates debating and vying for the nomination. The Dems are using smoke and mirrors before they announce their insane corrupt queen. Its all for show folks. It doesn't matter, it might as well not exist.

I saw one question to Hillary as I was channel surfing.....the commentator asked her "should everyone love Hillary"......

that was about the most dazzling question she had, I heard....I didn't stick around long enough to hear her answer.....

Well, they are counting on turning out the "Obama base" in the general. They fire up the buses, cartons of Lucky Strikes, cases of Colt 45 and try to skeer women, negroes and spics.

I have contended that while the percentages of the blacks will still go to Hillary, she will not get the same total turnout Obama did.

But will they turn out for her is a good question. Crazy Bernie's success is a measure of dissatisfaction with the democrat establishment and with Hillary. I think the Obama coalition shows signs of weakness.

Hillary's team is in charge of the debates hence the limited number of them and them being held on Saturday nights when they know less people will be watching. In a football analogy it's the equivalent to them playing prevent defense and just wanting to run out the clock. They know they are going to win and just don't want to do anything that could f it up.

What's interesting is I've real several liberal commentators who claim Hillary has done well in the debates and it's hurting her for the general that more people aren't able to see her performances.
