Luxury hybrid automaker Fisker Automotive Inc. will go to auction after a bankruptcy judge on Friday rejected a purchase proposal from the automaker's senior secured lender.


Fisker filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November, following missed deadlines and then lackluster sales of its Karma sedan that prompted the suspension of the remaining $337 million of the DOE loan.

The Department of Energy finally halted all further loans to the company in June 2011 after having disbursed $192 million of a planned $529 million.

Ya know, ya stop and consider that $192 million figure. It doesn't sound like much in the scheme of our huge government.

But consider... how many working Americans had to pay for that?

If you total up what maybe 200 working Americans pay over the course of their entire 40 or more years of working, that may cover that $192 million.

Those Americans had to sacrifice, deny their families certain things, put aside less for their retirements, to pay up. For what? For these shitheads to shit it all away?

Now multiply this fiasco by how many times? Over each year. Over and over.

It's not funny. My whole life of tax contributions pissed away. Fuck.
