Another day---Another family destroyed

Howey, that is horrible.

10,000 murders and an estimated 65 million legal gun owners. If (and this is a laughably big "if") all the murders were committed by legal gun owners, you want to ban guns because of what 0.02% of the gun owners do?

Where do you come up with that number? The number of households with guns in America is estimated at 42 million, a little less than 1 in 8 of our population and less than 33% of total households.

Here's another figure I found. Of guns used in murders, almost 40% came from friends and family members, more than stolen guns or guns purchased on the street. How can we keep this from happening?

that's absolute horseshit, considering the GOVERNMENT estimates had it at over 80 million just a couple of years ago.

YOu will notice I quoted a figure of how many gun owners, and you tried to correct me with the number of households with guns.

Also, with my numbers it was rounded UP to 0.02%. The actual number is 0.015% of gun owners have murdered someone. Using your numbers, it jumps to a whopping 0.024% of gun owners (again, making the laughable assumption that all the murders were committed by legal gun owners).

so... because we cannot craft a regulation that will prevent everything wrong from happening, we throw up our hands and say, fuck it, why regulate ANYTHING? What reasonable regulations would YOU support that would help to make tragedies with guns more rare?

And this coming from the man who broke the laws of Mexico and smuggled illegal guns into Mexico.
I thought that Fast and Furious had been stopped.

So no one is on board with this plan? Why not? It'd solve all these problems that you guys are supposedly outraged about. No more child abuse or kids turning to drugs or any of that shit. By having legal requirements, we can make sure that only qualified people can have children.

Age 18 is too young. The brain isn't fully developed until the 20s.

According to a 2011 gallup poll:
Number of guns and gun owners in USA.
Most estimates range between 39% and 50% of US households having at least one gun (that's about 43-55 million households). The estimates for the number of privately owned guns range from 190 million to 300 million. Removed those that skew the stats for their own purposes the best estimates are about 45% or 52 million of American households owning 260 million guns).

Some recent estimates:

A 2011 Gallup poll estimates that 47 percent of US households own a gun.
A 2007 Small Arms Survey estimates there are 88.7 guns per 100 Americans (#1 in the world for guns per capita)
A 2010 estimate from the NRA states "Privately owned firearms in the U.S.: Approaching 300 million, including nearly 100 million handguns. The number of firearms rises over 4 million annually."

I see that I missed the wording of the stat. thanks.
