A 3-year-old child fell off a roller coaster at a Pennsylvania theme park Thursday was airlifted to a hospital with unknown injuries, officials said.

The accident occurred at the Idlewild & Soak Zone in Ligonier, about 50 miles east of Pittsburgh, a local fire station told NBC News.

The Pennsylvania Amusement Ride Safety Division has shut down the coaster and an investigation has been opened, said supervisor Joseph Filoromo.

The owner of the Idlewild & Soak Zone did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The accident follows other incidents at amusement parks and fairs this summer — including one in Tennessee that injured three girls when their Ferris wheel bucket overturned and another in Kansas in which a 10-year-old boy was killed on a 169-foot water slide.

Deregulation of the health insurance industry here in Texas brought about year after year double digit price increases until the ACA was created.

And now our children are to be sacrificed at the altar of deregulation so some can make a few more dollars.
 
Bbbbut government regulation is....burdensome....and regulations cost tax dollars, so job creators can't reap maximum profits!
 
They wish to remove all impediment to the predatory greed of the capitalist.

They would expose women and children to the naked lust for profit that lurks in the hearts of businessmen.

A taste of the libertarian nightmare has been visited upon the state of Kansas.
Their experiment has proved to be a dismal failure.
