Another campaign promise abandoned !

it's honestly quite comical.. what all these liberal threads on here saying "trump actually wont do this thing" basically translates to is "oh... I guess my fear of trump was probably largely misguided, I was freaking out over the next hitler but he's basically like any other politician and I was mislead by blatant propaganda by the media, I am such a fool! haha conservatives!"

Interesting angle lol.

‘Hillary for Prison’ Crew Turns on Trump

President-elect Donald Trump signaled he would break one of his most authoritarian campaign-promises: His vow to do everything he could to jail his political rival Hillary Clinton.

“It’s just not something that I feel very strongly about," Trump told reporters and columnists at the New York Times Tuesday afternoon. “I don’t want to hurt the Clintons, I really don’t. She went through a lot and suffered greatly in many different ways."

Trump told the Times, regarding his supporters, “I don’t think they’ll be disappointed.” He thought wrong.

Many of Trump’s more high-profile fans, surrogates, and allies are angry about this about-face and insist “Crooked Hillary” - as Trump dubbed her throughout the campaign - be locked up.

“I’m hearing from people who are livid at Hillary, they’re still mad,” Rush Limbaugh, the famous conservative talk show host, said on Tuesday afternoon. “There are a lot of people who really thought that when Trump said ‘You oughta be in jail,’ that they agreed with that and thought that she should be!”

"BROKEN PROMISE," declared Breitbart—a far-right website previously run by Stephen Bannon, Trump’s incoming White House chief strategist.

Former tea-party congressman Joe Walsh, who tweeted in July that “Hillary Clinton should be in prison,” didn’t seem too pleased, either.

“When he said ‘Lock her up’ what he really meant was ‘Help her heal,’” Walsh tweeted sarcastically on Tuesday.

The president doesn’t have the authority to put individuals in jail, but has influence over the process: Trump told Clinton during a presidential debate in October, “I am going to instruct my attorney general to get a special prosecutor to look into your situation…we’re gonna have a special prosecutor.” He then added that if he were in charge, she’d “be in jail.”

But now that he’s entering office, Trump is not so sure—and it raises questions about how serious he was about any of his promises, to the chagrin of his most ardent backers.

Well if you recall how many people on here were calling him the new Hitler and a total fascist. It seems that much of the angst now is about themselves being so gullible and stupid. I posted this article by Scott Adams last Spring, you should read it as it is spot on in my view.

If you're referring to whether or not trump could be elected then yes, liberals took the position that a demagogue like him couldn't win. And we were wrong. But my comments are strictly about breaking campaign promises. The people who elected him truly believed he was going to drain the swamp and usher in a whole new era. They took him at his word. And as liberals knew all along, his word is meaningless.

You're such an insufferable moron. Liberals knew from the jump that trump is a scammer and a grifter. His promises aren't worth the amount of breath it takes to bleat them out.

I'm not freaking out, I'm LMAO at how gullible you trumpzis were to believe anything he said.

personally trump has not backed away from any important stuff yet. Hillary is already broken and defeated so i dont care about her anymore. Weve punished her worse than we ever could. Trump is still anti tpp. The wall is still going up , an yes as trump has said some areas will not even have a wall (natural barriers) and some will have different types depending on geography. We are still getting more jobs due to the infrastructure spending. At negative interest rates world wide why not spend anyway. So he still has my support.

Now the media is pushing reallly really hard to get romney appointed as secretary of state which means the GOPe/dems really want him in there. If trump appointed Romney SOS it will be the first thing that shakes my faith in him.

:rofl2: Masterful spin, sookie. Now it's "he hasn't backed away from any important stuff yet." He hasn't actually done anything except break promises. Maybe you should wait until January before you shower him with praise for what he's accomplished.

Well I repeat what I said many months ago, Trump knew he couldn't match Clinton for a campaign war chest hence he had to become as populist as possible to get out voters who normally wouldn't bother to vote.

I'm happy with his changes..they are more centrists ideas, but still incorporate border control, bilateral negotiations, tax reform.
I don't care about climate change -but if he keeps it -OK so long as its not to our economic disadvatange.
Waterboarding is not a good idea either.

see how it goes

Nothing more asinine or ironic than Liberals lecturing others about keeping campaign promises. Obama rarely kept any of them and his entire premise of "hope and change" went out the window when he took office and had a Democrat majority in the House and Senate.

My message to leftist twits; Fuck Off with your asinine stupidity. You people have ZERO room to talk about lies, promises, truth, experience or honesty.

Nothing more painfully stupid or asinine than LibTards whining about scammers and grifters.

Might I suggest waiting till he's actually done something as president before you reach any conclusions lol?

That would be too logical; the retards on the left can't help themselves. They haven't finished proving what total retards they are until they get even more egg on their faces. :rofl2:

it was liberals, not conservatives, that took trumps hyperbole seriously. Articles have already been written about it. You dunces got fooled and now are trying to pass the buck.

Wow - look at you! Already a full-blown apologist for Trump.

"Oh, you silly liberals - we all knew that Trump was exaggerating & lying the whole time. That's what makes him so great!"

Not even sure you can hear yourself anymore.

Well, you were one of the more hyperbolic Trump detractors here lol.

Says who? One of his biggest apologists?

Here's the thing, skippy - Trump devotees whined all during the campaign & after about how unfair everyone was to Trump. But all of it was just Trump's own words.

And there will be a lot more of them for the next 4 years. Buckle up, buttercup.
