Ann Romney: Not All Moms Have the Choice to Be a Stay-At-Home Mom

The fact that his father was wealthy is irrelevant. Some parents help a lot, some a little, and some, none at all. Unlike liberal parents, conservative parents teach their children that they must work hard to accomplish their financial goals. That's what my parents taught me and it worked well.

Also, did you even read the links that SF and I provided? Allow me to provide you with some excerpts:

"Romney attended Stanford University for a year, where he worked as a night security guard to fund secret trips home to see Ann." If he was getting help from daddy, why did he work as a security guard?

"In June 1968, an automobile Romney was driving in southern France was hit by another vehicle, seriously injuring him and killing one of his passengers, the wife of the mission president." Yeah, this guy's never had a hard day in his life.

"The Romneys' first son, Tagg, was born in 1970 while the Romneys were undergraduates at Brigham Young and living in a basement apartment. Ann subsequently gave birth to Matt (1971), Josh (1975), Ben (1978), and Craig (1981). Ann Romney's work as a homemaker would enable her husband to pursue his career."

"Ann Romney was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1998; Romney described watching her fail a series of neurological tests as the worst day of his life."

Yeah, sounds like a real picnic.

"Unlike liberal parents, conservative parents teach their children that they must work hard to accomplish their financial goals."

Do you really believe this or are you just flaming? My parents are fairly liberal and they also taught me to work hard. In fact, I'm guessing most parents teach this to their kids because it's a life lesson, not a partisan political one.

It has to do with when Mitt made his money and how old his children were at the time. You idiots keep pretending that the Romneys had maids/nannies raise their kids for them.

And you keep pretending when you say he made the bulk of his money, etc. that he started from scratch.

Both of my parents went from Democrats to Republicans to Independents today. If parents are teaching their kids different values based on their political leanings it might explain why I have gotten so many mixed messages and am all f'd up.

Yeah, I thought that in using a liberal blogger to show that they didn't have maids etc... would get the liberals to stop the proclamations, yet all it gets is Dune face palming himself for some unknown reason. I also posted that link because I found it amusing that once the liberal found out there were no maids that he flipped around and criticized (albeit somewhat sarcastically and thus probably just joking imo) Romney for not hiring help.

It said they had no full-time maid. Why do you suppose they had to use the words "full-time"?

You keep saying it's nonsense that libs assume the Romneys had help. Do you know otherwise for a fact? Or are you assuming?

I am saying its nonsense to make assumptions about things they do not know. Given what the kids have stated and the fact that he made the bulk of his fortune when his kids were older and out of the home, it appears your assumptions are nothing more than class envy. You are projecting your version of how 'the wealthy' live onto the Romney's.

No, you are all fucked up because you grew up in Ohio and went to USC. Your parents are only responsible for the first part. My parents took the same path, Dems under Kennedy, Reps under Reagan, Independents after Bush.

It's almost unfair to have those two advantages in life (Ohio & USC). There needs to be an executive order from the Oval Office preventing this from happening again in the future.

Absolute idiocy. She didn't just claim it, she tried to make this same argument about Laura Bush... Yeah frickin' weird. A Billionaire who married very rich actually said that Laura had "never done any real work"... (BTW - She was a Librarian and a Teacher before she became a stay at home mother)...

You have what I call "partisan memory loss"...

Cite.

Yes Jarod, Unlike your messiah Obama who refuses to release his grades (probably because they are worse than Bush's), it is known that Romney graduated with honors from BYU, was cum laude (top third) at Harvard Law and top 5% in Harvard Business School.
Cite?

And if we are talking about releasing records.... Why won't your messiah release all of his tax returns?

Teresa Heinz Kerry, wife of Senator John Kerry, the Democratic presidential nominee, sparked a genuine controversy this week, describing First Lady Laura Bush as less qualified to be a president's wife because she had never held a "real job" as an adult. The ensuing controversy raised a host of issues, ranging from Teresa Heinz Kerry's worldview to the role of mothers and the value of motherhood.

Oh good. I was worried you might post info from some unsubstantianed far right christian blog or something. Seems like a real scorcher of a scandal.

Translation:

I've been caught. So I'll attack the source and pretend nobody notices...

Here I'll give you one you'll "respect" an article on how Laura Bush reacted from People Magazine.

http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,733127,00.html

Anyway, it was definitely the wrong move for them. First it wasn't factually correct, Laura had worked as a Librarian and Teacher before choosing to be a stay at home mother, secondly it simply underlines the consistent theme that women who choose this supposedly "traditional" role are somehow of "less" value.

What is remarkable, is just 8 years ago, the Democrats ran a man for president who was just as 'well-to-do' as Romney. I don't recall them making the argument that Theresa Heinz Kerry was 'out of touch' or that her opinions didn't matter. Runed wants to bash Romney because he could afford to go to Harvard, but Obama went to Harvard too, did he not have to pay for that? Yeah Rana, something does seem to be missing... dependence and victimization! If Romney had that going for him, he could be a star in the Democrat party!
President Obama used the student loan program for his education, like I did. Thanks to a government program he and I got law degrees. The president was still paying his loans until shortly before his inauguration.

Candy boy.... I've never claimed anything about President Obama's grades. But do you havent citation to support your claims about Romney's grades?

Pretty much everybody who uses their money to say that her life was easy. Cartoons with people giving her tea while she talks about how raising 5 boys was challenging... You know, the idiots.

So, the person you can think of is some random cartoonist?
