Anita Hill

I can't wait to see this! I think that she changed the country. I also am fascinated to see Senators who are still in elected office today during these hearings. These hearings proceeded the 1992 election, which became known as "the year of the woman". Four women were elected to the senate that year, and I can't remember how many to the House. I always thought that women watching on television as a row of white men battered Anita Hill brought them to the polls that year looking for change.

WALTHAM, Mass. — On the day in 1991 that the Senate confirmed Clarence Thomas to the Supreme Court, Anita Hill — the little-known law professor who riveted the nation by accusing him of sexual harassment — faced news cameras outside her simple brick home in Norman, Okla., with her mother by her side, and politely declined to comment on the vote.

In the nearly 23 years since, Ms. Hill, now a professor of social policy, law and women’s studies at Brandeis University here, has worked hard, she likes to say, to help women “find their voices.” She has also found hers — and she is not afraid to use it.

“I believe in my heart that he shouldn’t have been confirmed,” she said in a recent interview, acknowledging that it irritates her to see Justice Thomas on the court. “I believe that the information I provided was clear, it was verifiable, it was confirmed by contemporaneous witnesses that I had talked with. And I think what people don’t understand is that it does go to his ability to be a fair and impartial judge.”

so a political whore, who likes watching another political whore, she was probably paid well for her testimony.

If the GOP could have found a white woman who ever accused Thurgood Marshall of such atrocities, they WOULD have lynched HIM, no doubt. When the offending black man is an Uncle Tom Republican AND the woman he harassed was only a black... then the GOP turned a blind eye.

Uncle Tom? now that is racist!

Darla must have forgotten that you're omniscient and, being omniscient, I'm sure you know that already.

Which is why you tried turning into partisan nonsense? You come after me for reversing what Maine had already stated rather than go after him for the absurdity of saying it to begin with? Maine called Thomas an Uncle Tom... yet you remain silent on that. I wonder why.

LMAO... wow, so the black judge can't decide on his own? Is he not smart enough?

It does not have anything to do with his being black, its simply who he is. There are black people who are not very smart, just like there are white people who are not very smart.

Uh, it was a joke, SF. Relax.

And, as I've told you before, I get to choose what I write about. You can cawacko were doing just fine (except when you posted about black people who vote Democrat being slaves).

The R men on this thread are a good example of why we need more women in office. Look at them. They literally have no clue what it was like for women in offices before Hill's testimony and the resulting sexual harassment laws, and companies taking them seriously. More importantly; they don't care.

They are on everything but that. They don't care. If those hearings were held today and JPP righties were the committee, this is how it would go:

Cawacko: She's cute

Superfreak: You think so? I've seen better

Cawacko: like I haven't? I'm just saying, she's cute

Cawacko: Did she just say he measured his dong?

Superfreak: Yep

Bravo: Is she talking about his privates?

ILA: Yes, his dick, he measured his dick. If you believe her. I don't

Cawacko: Hey superfreak, whose do you think is bigger? Thomas or Kobe's?

Superfreak: Man I don't know. According to her his is pretty big

Cawacko: yeah but she never saw it. Right? Did she see it?

Bravo: she looks like a slut to me

Taft: <singing> she's a little bit sluttty, she's a little bit nuttyyyyy but she looks alright to meeeee

ILA: would you shut the fuck up? I want to take this lying slut down

Bravo: I hope she's not getting tax payer paid for birth control

Cawacko: Superfreak do you want to get a drink after this is over?

Superfreak: Yeah if she ever stops yapping

ILA: you two better shut the fuck up and you're not going anywhere, i've taken extensive notes on this slut and we are going to bring her down and you two are going to be studying these notes all night

Cawacko: Superfreak, you wanna shove ILA in the trunk and then go for a drink? Or 12?

Superfreak: yeah, good idea.

Superfreak: man poor Clarence

Cawacko: Yeah. Let's have a drink to him tonight.

i just find it funny how out of all the supreme court justices you choose to have issue with, the one that earns most of your ire happens to be african american. why are you so racist?

The above is what Darla says...

What we hear:

"wa waa wah wah wha wa"

honestly I don't even care if a supreme court justice murdered somebody. I would choose a murderer that applied the constitution appropriately over one who didn't any day of the week. Supreme court is much too important.

Oh, I hate Scalia, too, I am sure Darla has no love for him, either; Thomas gts my ire because he was a sexual predator.
