And this is a vp we are supposed to respect

fuck you. so fucking stupid you are against us having alliance with a peaceful, prosperous nation who has been a favored nation trading ally for a decade. what a stupid fuck coward you are, as you are one of the sissies who makes sure to ban anyone you think can prove what a stupid fuck liar you are.

Not really sure what you are talking about. Are you joking? SEATO was dissolved in 1977, so not a current alliance. I would not be against a more general security alliance in Southeast Asia. Vietnam is not a Most Favored Nation, but I would in general support it becoming one (if it made some concessions). It is always good to get some concessions out of any new deal.

South Vietnam was never a member of SEATO. It was prohibited from taking part in international military alliances by the Geneva Agreement. It never joined SEATO. Get your facts correct, and get back to us.

Oddly enough, Vietnam is now making military alliances with us. We have Harris to thank for that.

Well, you got one member in that. Australia was actually a member of SEATO. South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan are not in Southeast Asia, and did not join SEATO. Beyond that, Japan was not allowed to join international military alliances.

Out of five supposed members of SEATO, you only got one right.

You're such a pompous cunt Salty.

Finally, the terms of the Geneva Agreements of 1954 signed after the fall of French Indochina prevented Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos from joining any international military alliance, though these countries were ultimately included in the area protected under SEATO and granted “observers” status.
