...And STRONGER TEA is STEEPING!

Listening to the Liberal Left, you would swear it's 2007 all over again. You would think the past two years we'd been under Bush/Republican rule, and Democrats were helpless to stop the evil Right Machine from driving us further into the ditch. You would never guess that we had an election in 2008, that their guy who was full of hope and promises, won the election! That their party, took control of both the House and Senate and ruled with an iron fist for two years, until 2010, getting virtually everything a liberal heart ever desired. No-no... it's like that didn't happen at all! And the elections of 2010 didn't happen either... we are still stuck in 2007, George W. Bush... Republicans at fault... Republicans to blame... As if everything which has transpired since 2007, simply never occurred.

Relentlessly, they post thread after thread, attacking the right, Sarah Palin, the TEA Party, Michelle Bachmann, The Tea Party, Christians, Tea partiers, Conservatives, The TEA Party, Ronald Reagan, The Tea party... hurling the accusation of "RACIST" liberally along the way. Denigrating others in such a vile and demeaning way, it borders on sociopath behavior. Now, you would think, to hear the Liberals tell it, the TEA Party is all washed up, people are turning away from them... no one wants to admit they are a TEA Partier, right?

Well... let's take a look at the last elections, in 2010. In the very first electoral round for the TEA Party on a national level, they did pretty well. Unseating over 600 statehouse seats held by Democrats, some of them went Republican, for the first time since Reconstruction. Before the 2010 elections, Republicans controlled both house and senate in 14 states, after the elections, it was 25... a record number, the previous high for Reps was 24 in 1952 with Ike. Same thing with Republican governorships, record-setting numbers... all over the country. Make no mistake, it was a monumental political shift of power.

Now the Liberals can SAY whatever they want to say... And the will... from now until the 2012 elections, they will literally run the gamut of things to say... it's going to get very ugly. Those of us on the right need to learn to shield ourselves from feeling the need to explain things to them, or justify our arguments for them... we should just refrain. It's pointless, and doesn't matter, we won't ever convince them to respond any other way except vitriolic toward the right... and tie it back in to Bush somehow. A broken record.

They can continue to try and tarnish and smear the candidates on the right, and conservatives, tea partiers, religious people, southern people, white people... whatever! But they really want you to not like the TEA Party, and not support them in any way, because the people who call the shots for Liberaldom... they KNOW the TEA Party is, as Biden would say, a fucking big deal.

The Tea Party has lost all credibility.

They have acomplished nothing.

The few idiots that support them don't matter.

They will be shortly forgotten.

Jobs matter. The Tea Party doesn't.

The tea party when it formed actually sounded interesting(not good but interesting) over the past years they've shouted alot, done nothing, and are slowly seeping back into the pits that birthed them

The Tea Partiers always talk about more local government and making decisions on a local level so the solution to a refusal to raise the debt limit would be for the Feds to stop sending checks to those who live in Tea Party districts. After all, that's what they want. That's what they voted for. Knowing the Federal Government will not have enough money to pay it's obligations what fairer thing to do than start the cuts in the Tea Party districts? I say give them what they want. :)

Sounds like a good deal if we also didn't have to pay federal taxes since we wouldn't be getting federal services.

Hey Dixie, THESE comments are not coming from 'the Liberal Left calling to stop the evil Right Machine from driving us further into the ditch.'

Here is an article by Bruce Bartlett. He is not a "leftist"...he was a domestic policy adviser to President Ronald Reagan and was a Treasury official under President George H.W. Bush.

Dopiest Constitutional Amendment of All Time?

If Senate Republicans had bothered to ask people who know something about such things they could have drafted an amendment that put in place budgetary procedures that might possibly have improved our nation's fiscal situation. But they didn't do that; they threw together some slapdash POS that was designed solely for the purpose of appealing to ignorant Tea Party types.

And by conservative journalist David Brooks

If the Republican Party were a normal party

That’s because the Republican Party may no longer be a normal party. Over the past few years, it has been infected by a faction that is more of a psychological protest than a practical, governing alternative.

The members of this movement do not accept the logic of compromise, no matter how sweet the terms. If you ask them to raise taxes by an inch in order to cut government by a foot, they will say no. If you ask them to raise taxes by an inch to cut government by a yard, they will still say no.

The members of this movement do not accept the legitimacy of scholars and intellectual authorities. A thousand impartial experts may tell them that a default on the debt would have calamitous effects, far worse than raising tax revenues a bit. But the members of this movement refuse to believe it.

The members of this movement have no sense of moral decency. A nation makes a sacred pledge to pay the money back when it borrows money. But the members of this movement talk blandly of default and are willing to stain their nation’s honor.

The members of this movement have no economic theory worthy of the name. Economists have identified many factors that contribute to economic growth, ranging from the productivity of the work force to the share of private savings that is available for private investment. Tax levels matter, but they are far from the only or even the most important factor.

But to members of this movement, tax levels are everything. Members of this tendency have taken a small piece of economic policy and turned it into a sacred fixation. They are willing to cut education and research to preserve tax expenditures. Manufacturing employment is cratering even as output rises, but members of this movement somehow believe such problems can be addressed so long as they continue to worship their idol.

Who cares what some has-been former staffer thinks? Here's what Rand Paul says about the issue.

"The thing is is that it's not an either/or situation," said Paul, "either they get what they want or they shut the government down. It's really them talking about it, I think, mainly because they want a cheap PR victory. They see it as, oh: We'll blame it on the Tea Party, or we'll blame it on Republicans. I don't want to shut the government down. In fact, I've always said you could simply spend what comes in. We bring in $200 billion a month. That's over $2 trillion per year. You could spend what's coming in."

It is clear there is NOTHING anyone can say, no matter if they are liberal OR CONSERVATIVE who can create ANY shred of moderation or sanity from you fanatical teabaggers.

My hope is that you will be sanctioned by the American people in 2012. The teabaggers had they 20 minutes of fame, now they need to be removed. We don't need terrorists in Washington.

Why do you keep talking about some kinky homosexual sex act? This is a political debate site.

more fear mongering and lies, apple. the only ones i've heard talk about not sending checks out to people have been democrats.

There has to be some checks that won't be any good, otherwise, what's the point to all this? If everyone is still going to get paid what's the debate about?

Is there any evidence that cutting government spending will create jobs?

The "deficit crisis" was manufactured by the GOP, who somehow neglected to oppose routine debt ceiling increases in the past.
