And just like that the Trumpers* stoped comparing it to flu...

You really are mentally retarded aren't you? What part of "No one was comparing the corona virus to the flu; they were illustrating the lunacy of elevating this disease to epidemic levels when the flu has infected and killed a thousand times more people" are you incapable of comprehending asswhipe?

I understand it clearly. But I am still clueless as to understand why you are telling me this and not the OP, the one who made the claim?

How is it too early to tell? It's been 56 days. How many days is the right way to tell shit-for-brains?

I R O N Y!!!

You can't count? You really are that simple minded?

Okay, what is 4 months into 55,000?

What is 2 months into 68?

Which one is the bigger number?

One more time. How many days/months in "from October 1, 2019, through March 7, 2020"?

Are you making a prediction? Willing to make a bet?

Didn't President Trump declare a national emergency 3 days after the CDC and WHO declared the COVID-19 pandemic?

Two months after the WHO declared it a global health emergency in January, two months after it spread in China, in South Korea, and spread to Italy. Prior to three days ago, Trump largely ignored it, then downplayed it, then lied about the Gov't addressing it, then lied again about testing it, then lied again about the severity. Friday and today he was forced, again forced, to face the reality

It is obvious there is no comparison; outbreaks and deaths of the flu far exceed anything we have seen from the coronavirus.

COVID-19: U.S. at a Glance*

Total cases: 3,487
Total deaths: 68

CDC estimates* that, from October 1, 2019, through March 7, 2020, there have been:
36,000,000 – 51,000,000 flu illnesses
370,000 – 670,000 flu hospitalizations
22,000 – 55,000 flu deaths
https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/preliminary-in-season-estimates.htm

Why didn't the president impose all the restrictions on the flu if it is "worse" than corona virus?

That the coronavirus was a major threat to all Americans,

How so? It arrived 56 days ago and we have only had 68 deaths from it; primarily at risk population. The Flu in the same timeline has killed more than 20,000.

What is greater; 20,000 or 68????

I don't recall him declaring the flu a national emergency, or finally, a week and half later, recommending that Americans restrict their social contact

Why don't you try doing some research instead of being a lazy whiny know-nothing? The virus was discovered in the US on January 14th.

Trump Declares Coronavirus A Public Health Emergency And Restricts Travel From China
January 31, 2020

Now why do you think he didn't take those actions against the flu which you've told us repeatingly Americans "are a 1,000 times more likely to die of than corona virus?"

Why don't you tell me why we are being lied to by the media about the threat of this virus which is a 1,000 times less likely to kill Americans?

What do you think is larger; 20,000 or 68?

What do you think is larger; 40,000,000 or 3,487?

President Trump declared a national emergency 3 days after the CDC and WHO declared the COVID-19 pandemic. That's a fact.

The rest of your screed is your opinion.

We're two weeks behind Italy. What will you claim then?

Benghazi?

But we are not Italy and parts of the country aren’t behind Italy.

Why haven’t deaths in Washington State jumped off the charts since the first confirmed case was discovered on January 15th.

Why hasn’t Washington State become Italy?

For one thing the population density of Italy, Germany, China etc. is much greater than in the US. More people packed together, more people exposed to the sick ones.
