An AR-15 is not a hunting rifle?!!

BS .. everyone of you lefties would be making the religion of the killer a priority if he / she were a non Muslim, especially if he were Christian raised. You'd be strongly suggesting through your illustrations, like the ones on this thread that all Christian raised people are no different from the killer's religion and have the same mentality.

Think so?

So he didn't use GUNS to kill 49 people and wound 53?

GUNS he bought legally?

GUNS that anyone can buy with a background check and waiting period?

Did the NRA-supported Congress repeatedly refuse to prohibit GUN sales to people on the terrorist watch list and the no-fly list?

My statement had nothing to do with what he used to commit his crime. My statement had nothing to do with an inanimate object.

My statement identified the religion of the killer ..radical or not .. his religion.

Something all of you refuse to do.

The utter hypocrisy and political correctness of you lefties is on full display on this thread.

It is? Who denies that shooter Omar was a Muslim?

Gun used in the San Bernardino massacre is a mass shooting mainstay
One of the guns used to kill 14 people in San Bernardino, CA this past week has also been used in mass shooting after mass shooting in recent years. The AR-15—a semi-automatic rifle that one of its makers, Colt, describes as being produced for “our Armed Forces”—has played an outsized role in America’s gun massacres, as CBS News summarized on Friday:An AR-15 was used to kill nine people at Umpqua Community College in Oregon in October. It was also the weapon used in the murders of 12 people at a Colorado movie theater in 2012.And an AR-15 was used in the 2012 murders of 20 first graders and six adults in Newtown, Connecticut.CBS spoke to a gun store owner who called the AR-15 “America’s rifle” and added, “You’re going to find more of those in safes at home than you’ll find of any other rifle in the country.”Sales of the AR-15 spiked after the Newtown shootings, as potential gun owners feared—wrongly, it turned out—that they might be subject to new gun control restrictions. Though the market has cooled off a bit recently. They’re popular because, as CNN noted, they can be customized in a dizzying number of ways. One manufacturer gives purchasers at least 17 different ways to build on its basic model. As it happens, the AR-15s used in the San Bernardino shooting was illegal under California law because of the way it had been customized. Some forms of the AR-15 were banned under the 1994 Federal Assault Weapons Ban, but the ban expired in 2004.

No.

The AR-15 is a military and civilian gas-operated rifle that has been produced in many different versions. The term "AR-15" was chosen by Colt for the civilian models it produced after selling the rifle to the US military as the M16 rifle, and many people and references use the term "AR-15" exclusively for civilian models. This article discusses the original design for military users and its major variants, however they are labeled. AR-15 rifles are lightweight, magazine-fed, air-cooled, fire an intermediate cartridge, and are manufactured with extensive use of aluminum alloys and synthetic materials.

The AR-15 was first built in 1959 by ArmaLite as a small arms rifle for the United States armed forces. Because of financial problems, ArmaLite sold the design to Colt. After some modifications, the redesigned rifle was adopted as the M16 rifle. In 1963, Colt started selling the semi-automatic version of the rifle for civilians designated as the Colt SP1. Although the name "AR-15" remains a Colt registered trademark, variants of the firearm are made, modified, and sold under various names by multiple manufacturers.

It matters not that the AR-15 isn't a hunting rifle.

What an AR-15 is not:

1. Fully automatic.
2. "Military Grade"

What it is:

A semi-automatic rifle much like your normal hunting rifle. It's a civilian grade, single shot, semi-automatic rifle. Which means that for each pull of the trigger you get one bullet from a properly loaded and functioning rifle. Just like from your hunting rifle. With one difference; it looks like a fully automatic rifle that people see in the movies so it is much "scarier", though functions the same as, any other semi-automatic rifle.
