I was never an ensign. I was initially commissioned a Second Lieutenant so Second Looey or Butter Bar would be more appropriate. When I crossdecked to the Navy I was a Marine Captain one day and a Navy Lieutenant the next.
As you should recall, it's legal to wear a lower, previously earned rank, but not a higher one.

Agreed. It happens quite a bit. I've noticed he has occasional bouts of lucidity then the lucidity fades away and all he does is post very simple posts, mostly insults and, of course, "groans". The odd thing is he never explains why he's giving someone a groan.
My guess is he simply doesn't like the post but is too brain-damaged to post an adult explanation for his actions. There are, literally, over 29,000 examples of him doing this.
Has anyone ever seen Captain Earl explain why he groaned a post? Me neither.
